守備陣強化を模索するビラ、ビジャレアルでエメリ監督と共闘したDFフォイスに関心か

アストン・ビラがビジャレアルに所属するアルゼンチン代表DFフアン・フォイス(27)の獲得を狙っているようだ。

アストン・ビラでは今冬に準主力の元ブラジル代表DFジエゴ・カルロス(31)がフェネルバフチェへ移籍。さらに守備の要であるスペイン代表DFパウ・トーレスが中足骨骨折で長期離脱を強いられると、26日に行われたウェストハム戦ではDFタイロン・ミングスがヒザを負傷し、途中交代していた。

センターバックの強化が最優先事項となっているビラは、セビージャのフランス代表DFロイク・バデ(24)らに関心を示していたが、新たにビジャレアルでウナイ・エメリ監督と共闘したフォイスの獲得に動き出したようだ。
ウェストハム戦後にイギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』のインタビューで、フォイスについて問われたエメリ監督は以下のようにコメントした。

｢もちろん、フアン・フォイスのことは知っている。私は彼と一緒に仕事をしたことがあるからね。彼のクオリティーなら、我々が求めるクオリティーとパフォーマンスを備えたプレーができるし、チームを活性化させてくれるだろう｣
エストゥディアンテスやトッテナムでプレーしたフォイスは、2020年10月にレンタル移籍でビジャレアルに加入。翌年に完全移籍を果たすと、レンタル期間を含めた5シーズンで公式戦120試合に出場し4ゴール6アシストを記録。

しかし、昨シーズンは肩のケガで後半戦を棒に振り公式戦16試合の出場に留まると、今シーズン前半戦も戦力に加わっていけずだったが、昨年12月のラージョ・バジェカーノ戦で復帰を果たすと、ラ・リーガ4試合に出場していた。

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ
