リシャルリソン、自身への踏み付けで退場カバーニに「骨折してたかも。だけど、悪意はなかった…」

ブラジル代表FWリシャルリソンが、自身への危険な踏み付けで退場処分となったウルグアイ代表FWエディンソン・カバーニについて言及した。イギリス『ミラー』が伝えている。

ブラジルは17日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)南米予選第4節でウルグアイ代表と対戦し、2-0で勝利を飾った。

同試合で先発出場し、チームを勝利に導く貴重な追加点を記録したリシャルリソンだが、同試合の後半半ばにはあわや重傷というアクシデントに見舞われていた。

69分、ピッチ中央でドリブルを仕掛けたリシャルリソンは、後方から追いかけてきたカバーニに右足をスパイクされてピッチでもんどりうった。このファウルに対して主審はイエローカードを掲示したが、オンフィールドレビューの末にウルグアイ代表FWに対してレッドカードを掲示した。

そして、リシャルリソンはこの直後にFWエヴェルトンとの交代を強いられていた。

重傷も懸念されたリシャルリソンだったが、幸いなことに大事には至らず。試合後にはこのプレーに関して自身の見解を示している。

0-2のビハインドによるフラストレーション、近くに味方DFマルティン・カセレスがいたことを考えれば、カバーニのプレーは故意、あるいは行き過ぎたプレーに見えたが、リシャルリソンはプレー自体の危険性は認めながらも、あくまで「ボールの奪い合い」だったと偶発的なプレーであったと考えているようだ。

「個人的には単なるボールの奪い合いだったと思う。ただ、彼の足は少し上に行き過ぎていた感じだったね」

「もし、自分の足が芝に引っかかっていたら、足首を骨折していたかもしれない。だけど、彼に悪意はなかったと思っているよ」

「彼はボールを取ろうと試みていたけど、それがうまくいかなかっただけさ」

ひとつ間違えば、重傷を負う可能性もあったリシャルリソンだが、カバーニに対して非常に寛大な反応を示した。

なお、所属するエバートンではリバプールとのマージーサイド・ダービーでスペイン代表MFチアゴ・アルカンタラへのアフターチャージで一発退場となっていたリシャルリソンは、3試合の出場停止処分を科されていた。しかし、22日に開催されるフルアム戦で出場停止が明ける。
