同試合で先発出場し、チームを勝利に導く貴重な追加点を記録したリシャルリソンだが、同試合の後半半ばにはあわや重傷というアクシデントに見舞われていた。
69分、ピッチ中央でドリブルを仕掛けたリシャルリソンは、後方から追いかけてきたカバーニに右足をスパイクされてピッチでもんどりうった。このファウルに対して主審はイエローカードを掲示したが、オンフィールドレビューの末にウルグアイ代表FWに対してレッドカードを掲示した。
そして、リシャルリソンはこの直後にFWエヴェルトンとの交代を強いられていた。
0-2のビハインドによるフラストレーション、近くに味方DFマルティン・カセレスがいたことを考えれば、カバーニのプレーは故意、あるいは行き過ぎたプレーに見えたが、リシャルリソンはプレー自体の危険性は認めながらも、あくまで「ボールの奪い合い」だったと偶発的なプレーであったと考えているようだ。
「個人的には単なるボールの奪い合いだったと思う。ただ、彼の足は少し上に行き過ぎていた感じだったね」

元ウルグアイ代表FWの37歳カバーニ、ボカと2026年まで契約延長 「最後の日まで何度でも挑戦」

日本代表が初めて感じた世界の壁、ストライカーが認める“9番”ガブリエル・バティストゥータ

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
