ブラジル女子代表の中心選手であり、女子サッカー界のレジェンドでもあるMFマルタ(38)が代表引退を発表した。
6度の女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場したマルタ。男子は最多優勝を誇る一方で、女子はW杯でのタイトルに縁がなく、2023年に行われたオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子W杯はグループステージで敗退していた。
W杯後にこれが最後のW杯になると語っていたマルタだが、2024年をもってブラジル女子代表からの引退を宣言した。
ブラジル『CNN』のインタビューで明かしたもの。あとは後輩たちに託すことにするとした。
「今年は私にとって最後の年ですが、すでにここでそれを発表できます。その時が来たことを理解する必要がある瞬間があります」
マルタは6度のW杯に出場した中で、W杯通算17ゴールを記録。これは男女を通じてのW杯最多得点記録となっている。
また、今夏行われるパリ・オリンピックに選出されれば、オリンピックも6度目の出場に。オリンピックは2004年と2008年に銀メダルを獲得しているが、金メダルの経験もない。
一方で、パンアメリカンで2003年と2007年に優勝。女子コパ・アメリカでは2003年、2010年、2018年と3度優勝している。

女子サッカー界のレジェンドMFマルタがブラジル女子代表を引退へ…男女のW杯で最多17ゴール、パリ五輪出場なら6度目の五輪に

ブラジル代表FWリシャルリソンがアニメキャラ4体の“タトゥー”!孫悟空の下にはディズニーの人気キャラ

「魔法使いの共演」ネイマールがロナウジーニョとブラジル代表新旧10番ショット! 「相棒に会えて嬉しい」

「2人のアイドル」ベッカムとロナウジーニョの2ショットが実現!F1カタールGPでの1枚が反響「2002年を思い出す」
