マドリーとの契約が今季までとなる中、延長に向けた交渉が昨年12月から続けられてきたが、アセンシオはより多くの出場機会を求め退団を決意。今夏の移籍市場をフリーの状態で迎えることが確実視されている。
アセンシオにはパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)やアーセナルのほか、ユベントス、ミランなどイタリア方面からも強い関心が囁かれているが、イタリア『カルチョメルカート』によると、アストン・ビラが獲得に前進しているとのことだ。
