現地時間23日、アメリカ、ナショナル・ウィメンズ・サッカーリーグ(NWSL)のプレーオフ準決勝、ポートランド・ソーンズFCvsサンディエゴ・ウェーブがプロビデンス・パークで行われ、2-1でポートランドが勝利を収めた。ポートランドのMF杉田妃和は先発フル出場。同点のきっかけとなるクロスを上げている。

準々決勝でレギュラーシーズン6位のシカゴ・レッドスターズを下した同3位のサンディエゴが、同2位・ポートランドの敵地へ乗り込んだ一戦。先制したのはアウェイのサンディエゴだった。
右サイド深い位置でキープしたFWアレックス・モーガンの左足クロスに、飛び込んだのはMFテイラー・コルニエック。頭で合わせて8分に試合を動かした。

ポートランドもすぐさまに反撃に転じ、21分に試合を振り出しに。左CKのこぼれ球を回収した杉田がボックス右角付近からすぐさまゴール前へ入れ直すと、ファーへ跳ね返されたボールにMFラケル・ロドリゲスが反応。ペナルティアーク左でワントラップから力みのないファインボレーを右隅へ沈めた。
以降は互いに決定機を迎えるも、ポートランドのGKベラ・ビックスビー、サンディエゴのGKカイレン・シェリダンの両GKが好守を披露。2点目を奪えぬまま終盤まで推移したが、延長戦も見え始めた終了間際にまたもセットプレーからドラマが生まれる。

攻勢を強めたポートランドが追加タイム3分に左CKを獲得すると、セカンドボールに反応したのは途中出場のMFクリスタル・ダン。ボックス内で右足を一閃。強烈な一撃を左上に突き刺した。

これが決勝点となり、ポートランドが2-1と逆転勝ち。2018年以来、4年ぶり4度目の決勝進出を決めた。

2017年以来3度目の優勝が懸かる決勝戦は現地時間29日、ワシントンのアウディ・フィールドで行われる。対戦相手はレギュラーシーズン1位のOLレインを下し、初優勝を目指すカンザスシティ・カレントとなっている。

「壮大で記憶に残る」ナイキのPVでムバッペvsロナウジーニョが実現!豪炎寺修也も登場で海外ファン歓喜

「まさに死闘ってカンジ」歴史に残るバーレーンとの4-3の激闘!2004年大会プレイバックに反響「このゴールで中澤佑二に惚れた」

日本代表は10日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア2次予選兼アジアカップ予選のモンゴル代表戦を行う。 試合に先立ち、モンゴル代表のドイツ人指揮官、ミハエル・ワイス監督が記者会見に出席した。 ワイス監督は、会見の冒頭に「どっちが良いですか?日本語ですか?」と日本語を披露。「どちらでも良いですが、英語で話しましょう」と語ると、日本人女性と結婚していることを明かした。 2000年7月から2004年6月までは、京都パープルサンガでゲルト・エンゲルス監督、ピム・ファーベーク監督の下でアシスタントコーチを務めていた。 日本との関わりも深く、日本代表も熟知しているワイス監督は、日本代表戦に向けた意気込みを語った。 ◆ミハエル・ワイス監督(モンゴル代表) 「では、英語で話しましょう。モンゴル代表監督として、アジアでベストのチームと試合ができることを誇りに思っています。それから個人的に思い入れがありまして、実は21年間神戸に住んでいる日本人の女性と結婚しているので、今回の凱旋に関しては特別な思いがあります」 「しかし、それは脇に置いておいて、チームは明日日本代表と戦うわけですが、若い選手が多く、このレベルで試合をした経験があまりない選手もいますので、明日の雰囲気に飲まれないように、日本に怖気付かないように、立派なプレーができるように望んでいます」 ──日本代表を熟知しているかと思いますが、日本代表の印象は。またモンゴル代表の強みをどう生かしたいか 「まず、私自身、随分前になりますが、京都パープルサンガ(現京都サンガF.C.)で仕事をしていましたので、日本に住んでいたことがあります。あとは家族の関係もありますので、日本代表や日本のサッカーはずっとフォローしていますし、多くの知人もいます。日本代表については深い知識があると思っています」 「今、日本代表はちょうど過渡期にあって変革の時にあると思います。若いワクワクするような選手が台頭しています。中島選手、堂安選手、南野選手たちです。それから、コパ・アメリカから始まって、最近2試合のミャンマー戦、パラグアイ戦もしっかりとモニタリングしました」 「そうした色々な自分たちの知識に基づいて、我々は攻撃的なリスクをとるのではなく、守備的な試合を明日はします。選手たちが明日圧倒されないように、そして自分たちが持っているベストの能力を最大限にしっかりと発揮できるようにしたいと思います。あとは、どれだけモンゴルのサッカーが発展しているかを見せたい」 ──明日の試合は、監督、選手にとって良いパフォーマンスをすることと、良い結果を残すことのどちらが大事か 「もちろん、我々はしっかりとしたパフォーマンスを見せること、我々のやり方を見せることが大事です。そして、明日の試合で多くを学びたいと思います。そして、我々モンゴル代表の優れたパフォーマンス、長所をしっかり出していきたいと思います」 「日本の攻撃的なアクションにあふれたプレーに対して、しっかりと照準を合わせて、メンバーの面でも日本代表にしっかりと対応していく準備ができています。準備を実践することが大事だと思っています」 ──明日は元横綱の朝青龍も観に来ると言っていますが、何かチームに影響はあるのか 「とてもポジティブだと思います。自分たちの存在をしっかりと認めてくれていて、横綱が応援してくれる、サポートしてくれるということは、代表にとって心強いです。素晴らしいパフォーマンスを見せようとやる気が出ると思うので、良いことだと思います」 ──今回のメンバーの中でベストと考える選手のコンディションが起用に影響するか 「私はあまりたくさんのことを変えることは好きではなく、継続性を大事にしています。ただ、対戦相手のスタイルに合わせて、早い動きができる選手、経験のある選手、フィジカルに強い選手、ヘディングが強い選手を選びます。我々の日本代表のリサーチに基づいて、明日の選手をしっかり選んでいきます」 ──この日に向けてはどれぐらいの期間調整をして、準備をしてきたのか 「実は2年半前から準備を始めました。このレベルに達するために、私は2017年3月に監督に就任した時から、まず最初の目標はW杯の2次予選に出ることでした。そして6月にブルネイ戦の結果、目標が達成できました」 「明日の試合の準備に関しては、先週金曜日に集合して開始しました。モンゴルはリーグ戦が4月から10月までしかありません。その他の季節は寒すぎてプレーできません。ですので、年の初めやモンゴルでプレーできないときは、海外で合宿をしたりして、しっかりとした一環のプロセスの下、一連の準備を行っています」 「JFAの皆様が、我々モンゴル代表、そして女子サッカーに対しても、非常に大きなサポートをしてくださっています。モンゴル協会と日本サッカー協会は良い関係を育んでおり、常日頃のご支援に感謝します」 2019.10.09 20:15 Wed

「なんとか取り戻したい」9月以来の日本代表活動の前田大然、高校の先輩・渡辺剛との初活動は「2人で活躍したい」

アジアカップの開幕が近づく中で、日本代表FW前田大然(セルティック)が自身の状態について言及した。 12日に開幕を迎えるアジアカップ2023。カタールで開催される中で日本代表は調整を続けている。 ケガの影響もあり9月以降の日本代表活動に参加できなかったが、復帰してアジアカップで合流。9日に行われたヨルダン代表とのトレーニングマッチでもゴールを記録していた。 前田は11日のトレーニング後に取材に応じ、ヨルダン戦についてコメント。「個人というかチームとして良い状態だと思います。ここ数回は辞退していたので、なんとか取り戻したいとやっていて、練習試合でしたけどしっかりゴールできて良かったです」と、ゴールを喜んだ。 セルティックでもリーグ戦5試合欠場したもの、12月中旬に復帰。5試合を戦った中、合流直前のセント・ミレン戦では10月以来のゴールを記録した。 「復帰してチームでも2、3試合やりましたし、こっちに来る前にゴールもできていたので、問題ないです」と状態は問題ないと語った前田。11日のトレーニングは途中で離脱したが「コンディションを上げたいという部分もありましたが、明日の練習から全然大丈夫なので問題ないです」と、大きな問題ではないとした。 開幕は12日だが、日本の初戦はベトナム代表と14日に行われる。カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のアジア予選でも戦ったベトナム。格下ではあるが、簡単にも勝たせてもらえない相手だ。 前田は「練習前にミーティングしましたけど、ベトナムとは1点差のゲームが多くて、難しい試合になることは間違い無いです」とコメント。「ただ、前と比べるとチームは大きく進化しているので、自分たちのサッカーをすれば良い試合ができていると思います」と、今の日本代表の戦いができれば問題はないと語った。 一方で、トレーニングマッチのヨルダン戦ではカウンターから失点。前田は失点はない方が良いとしながらも、本大会前に確認できたことは良かったとした。 「失点してきていなかった中での失点ですが、試合をやっていればどうしてもしてしまいますし、大会前にチームとして経験できたこと、そういうこともあるということが分かったのはこれから先やっていく上で良かったかなと。失点は無い方がもちろんいいので、減らしていけば良いと思います」 今回の日本代表には、山梨学院大学附属高校の1つ先輩であるDF渡辺剛(ヘント)が招集されている。高校の先輩と代表では初の活動になるが、「一緒にやりたいというのは常にあったので、今回初めてそういう機会が得られたので、母校を盛り上げるように2人で活躍したいです」とコメント。ついに実現したことを喜んだ。 2024.01.11 23:57 Thu
