ウルグアイ代表の空気を読まない行動が政府からも批判されている。ウルグアイ代表は、11月の代表活動でカタール・ワールドカップに向けた南米予選を戦っていた。しかし、代表活動後に新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の感染者が続出。16人が陽性反応を示してしまい、クラスター発生となってしまった。



ウルグアイ『ラ・ナシオン』によると、20日はカリアリのDFディエゴ・ゴディンが陽性反応を示し、これで感染者が16人になったという。
そのうち選手は10名にのぼり、ゴディンの他、アトレティコ・マドリーのFWルイス・スアレスとMFルーカス・トレイラ、ベンフィカのFWダルウィン・ヌニェス、ロサンゼルスFCのFWディエゴ・ロッシとFWブライアン・ロドリゲス、セロ・ポルテーニョのGKロドリゴ・ムニョス、ナシオナルのMFガブリエル・ネベス、レンティスタスのDFアレクシス・ロリン、パウメイラスのDFマティアス・ビニャ(とのことだ。

また残り6名にはチームドクターのアルベルト・パン、広報担当のマティアス・ファラルが含まれているとのことだ。
ウルグアイの公衆衛生省は、状況説明のためにウルグアイサッカー協会(AUF)を召喚。64万5000ウルグアイペソ(約157万円)の罰金を科すことを決めたようだ。

さらに問題を大きくしているのが、ルーカス・トレイラがツイッターに投稿した写真だ。この写真には9人の選手が写っており、水筒とマテ茶を手に焚き火の周りを囲んでいるもの。選手同士の距離もとても近く、ソーシャル・ディスタンスが取られていないものだった。

加えて、この9人のうち5人が陽性反応を示している状況。ウルグアイ政府は怒りを隠さず、「出回っているいくつかの写真でも見られるように、いくつか見落としている部分がある。みんなで火を囲んでいる。ルールを守られていないほどの共存と兄弟愛があった」と大臣が皮肉を口にしたようだ。

サプライヤーなしのウルグアイ代表が新ユニフォームを発表!男女平等促進のため紫色も取り入れた史上初のデザインに
