背番号96に変更した山口蛍
ヴィッセル神戸のMF山口蛍が背番号変更への想いを綴った。2023シーズンは明治安田生命J1リーグで見事に初優勝を果たした神戸。そのチームを中盤で支えたのは山口であり、Jリーグのベストイレブンにも選出されるなど結果を残した。
その神戸は、10日に2024シーズンの選手背番号を発表。これまで「5番」を背負ってきた山口は「96番」に変更。これが話題となった。
「96」は、山口の家族である愛犬の「クロ」にちなんだもの。その番号を背負ってプレーすることを決断したが、賛否両論を呼ぶこととなっていた。
そんな中、自身のインスタグラムを更新した山口は、背番号への想いを綴り、「ふざけているわけではない」と反論。昨シーズンの時点で決めていたとし、チームのために全力で戦うことを誓った。

イニエスタの神戸ラストマッチは札幌とドロー…57分で途中交代もトゥーレル弾で勝ち点1を拾う【明治安田J1第19節】
