イングランド代表FWのラヒーム・スターリングがクロアチア代表戦のゴールを振り返った。イギリス『アスレティック』が伝えている。イングランドは13日にユーロ2020グループD第1節でクロアチアと対戦し、先発したスターリングは57分にMFカルヴァン・フィリップスのスルーパスに反応。ボックス中央に抜け出してシュートを決めきり、決勝点をマークした。

ジャマイカ生まれのスターリングだが、幼少期にロンドンのブレントに移住。クロアチア戦が行われたウェンブリー・スタジアムは“裏庭”と呼ぶほど近所だった。スターリングは試合後、ゴールについて次のように語っている。
「気分がいいよ。僕は大きな大会でウェンブリーでプレーした時、裏庭でゴールしているようなものだといつも言ってきた。僕にはゴールが求められていて、実際のそれができたことは素晴らしいことだ」

「長いシーズンだった。ここに来るのが待ちきれなかったし、イングランド代表がポジティブなものになると分かっていたので、イングランド代表としてプレーするのを待ちきれなかった」
また、スターリングは自身のツイッターを更新。幼少期の写真とともに「物語がどこから始まったのか決して忘れることはない。#BoyfromBrent」と投稿し、ブレントに住んでいた頃を思い返していた。

シティDFラポルテが同僚の“タトゥー” を品定め、エデルソンは「多いけど、かっこよくはない」

オフ満喫中のグリーリッシュがパーティーでお触り…ビキニの女性は恋人とは別人の客室乗務員

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

トゥヘル新体制のイングランド代表が発表! 売り出し中のルイス=スケリー、32歳のバーンが初招集…ラッシュフォードやヘンダーソンが復帰【2026年W杯欧州予選】
