フォーデン&グリーンウッドが愚行…アイスランド戦の宿泊先に女性を連れ込み懲戒処分へ
イングランド代表デビューを飾ったばかりのマンチェスター・シティMFフィル・フォーデンと、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドFWメイソン・グリーンウッドが愚行を犯した。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が伝えている。 イングランド代表期待の若手であるフォーデンとグリーンウッドは、5日に行われたUEFAネーションズリーグのアイスランドとのアウェイゲームでA代表デビューを飾り、1-0の勝利に貢献した。 しかし、待望のスリーライオンズデビューの裏で許しがたい愚行を犯していたことが判明した。 アイスランド『DV』が伝えるところによれば、フォーデンとグリーンウッドの2選手は、代表チームが滞在していたアイスランドの宿泊先に2人の女性を招き入れていた疑いがあるという。 その女性のうちの1人がホテルの一室で撮影されたと思われる『Snapchat』のビデオでは、両選手の姿がハッキリと映されており、動画に加工などの形跡もなく本物と見て間違いないと見られている。 さらに、女性は『DV』の取材に対して、数日前に両選手の片方と知り合い、宿泊先に招き入れられたこと、新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)に関するプロトコルを知らなかったことや、写真や動画の撮影を許可されていたなど、細かなやり取りを語っていた。 ほぼ確実に“クロ”だと思われる両選手は、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)が定める代表活動中の行動規則、新型コロナウイルスのプロトコルのいずれも違反しており、今後懲戒処分が科される可能性が極めて高いと思われる。 なお、代表チームはすでに両選手の違反行為を確認しているようで、トレーニング参加を禁じられているようだ。 また、ガレス・サウスゲイト監督は現地時間の7日午後に公式会見に出席する予定となっており、その場で両者に関する何らかの説明がある模様だ。 ちなみにフォーデンには長年交際しているパートナーとの間に2歳の息子がいる。一方、グリーンウッドは今年5月にモデルの女性と破局したばかりだった。 2020.09.07 21:03 Mon

シュマイケル氏持論「イングランドには未だにシーマンを超えるGKは存在しない」
かつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドで活躍した元デンマーク代表GKピーター・シュマイケル氏が、イングランド代表のGK事情に言及している。 ここ数年、若手の台頭が著しいスリーライオンズだが、守護神問題は長年の課題となっている。ガレス・サウスゲイト監督はGKジョーダン・ピックフォードをファーストチョイスとしているが、所属先のエバートンではミスが散見されており、評判は高くない。 バーンリーのGKニック・ポープやマンチェスター・ユナイテッドのディーン・ヘンダーソンも確かな技術は持っているものの、前者は所属チームの調子が上がらず、後者は控えに甘んじている。 そんな中、シュマイケル氏がイギリス『タイムズ』のインタビューで、上記3選手を比較しながら、元アーセナルでイングランド代表では75キャップを誇るデイビッド・シーマン氏が、近年では最も優れた守護神だったと持論を展開した。 「ここで話しているのは3人のGKについてだ。一人(ピックフォード)はイングランド代表で3年間プレーしているが、プレミアリーグではミスを続けている。これは一般的な評価だ」 「もう一人(ヘンダーソン)は代表では全くプレーしていない。昨シーズンはシェフィールド・ユナイテッドでプレーした。そしてもう一人(ポープ)はバーンリーの選手。プレミアリーグでは最下位の方だ」 「イングランドに守護神が最後にいたのはいつかって?」 「ジョー・ハートがいるじゃないか。なぜ彼が背番号「1」ではないんだ? まだ33歳で、おそらく全盛期だろう」 「だが私にとってのこの質問に対する答えはデイビッド・シーマンになるだろう。おそらく彼が最後の守護神だ」 2020.10.13 20:03 Tue

相手が恐れる右手…ストライカーの完成形と呼ばれた男、アラン・シアラー
