クリスタル・パレスは10日、イングランド人MFウィル・ヒューズ(29)、元ガーナ代表MFジェフリー・シュラップ(31)、そして主将を務めるイングランド人DFジョエル・ウォード(34)との契約延長を発表した。

新契約は3選手ともに2025年夏まで。また、元イングランド代表DFナサニエル・クライン(33)とイングランド人GKレミ・マシューズ(30)に関しても契約延長を巡り、協議中だという。

パレスで計672試合(ヒューズが82試合、シュルップが230試合、ウォードが360試合)の通算出場数を誇る3選手の契約延長に際して、スティーブ・パリッシュ会長がクラブの公式サイトでコメントしている。
「ピッチ上で極めて重要な役割を果たすだけでなく、ウィル、ジェフ、ジョエルはクリスタル・パレスのDNAを体現し、練習場で最高水準の文化を確立するのに貢献してくれるロッカールームの天性のリーダーでもある。来季、彼らがオリバー・グラスナーの下で、我々のエキサイティングな進歩をさらに促進させるために我々と一緒にいてくれるのを嬉しく思う」

一方、イングランド人DFジェームズ・トムキンス(35)と元オランダ代表MFジャリオ・リーデヴァルド(27)が今夏の契約満了に伴って退団する見通しも明らかに。パリッシュ会長からは感謝の言葉が送られている。

クリスタル・パレスアカデミー出身の元選手が34歳で逝去…服役、ポルノ男優転身の過去も

クリスタル・パレス、最古参DFジョエル・ウォードとの契約延長を発表

四面楚歌のサンビ・ロコンガ、恩師率いるバーンリーが受け皿に?
