3日、アジアカップ2023の準々決勝2試合が行われ、ベスト4が決定した。
カタールで行われているアジアカップ。ベスト8まで決まっていた中、2日に行われた準々決勝ではヨルダン代表、韓国代表が勝ち上がりを決めていた。
3日には日本代表がイラン代表との一戦に臨み、2-1で敗戦。守田英正のゴールで先制に成功したが、後半に2失点。1-1で迎えたアディショナルタイムに痛恨のPKを与えてしまい、延長戦を前に敗れてしまった。
最多5度目の優勝を目指した日本が敗退した中、その後に行われたカタール代表vsウズベキスタン代表も激戦に。開催国であり前回王者であるカタールが早々に先制するも、後半にウズベキスタンが追いつき、試合は延長でも決着がつかずPK戦へ。そのPK戦では、カタールの守護神メシャール・バルシャムが3本もセーブし、2大会連続でベスト4入りを果たした。
ベスト4に勝ち上がったのは、日本に並ぶ最多4度目の優勝を目指すイラン、連覇を目指すカタール、史上初のベスト4入りを果たしたヨルダン、そして64年ぶり3度目の優勝を目指す韓国という顔ぶれになった。

「泣ける」「1番グッときた」ザルツブルクが南野拓実&ファン・ヒチャンの敗退にメッセージ「私達の誇り」

韓国の伝説的GKキム・ビョンジが46歳で現役引退…通算706試合出場

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!
