杭州アジア競技大会に臨む日本女子代表MF塩越柚歩(三菱重工浦和レッズレディース)が、共闘を呼び掛けた。22日にスタートするアジア競技大会へ向けて準備を進めるサッカー日本女子代表。国際Aマッチとして行われる23日のアルゼンチン女子代表戦と日程が重なるため、今大会のチームはなでしこジャパンという呼称を用いることはできない。"別動隊"として日の丸を背負い、狩野倫久監督の元でタイトル獲得を目指す。
フレッシュな面々が揃う中で10番を託されたのは塩越。オフには左足関節内遊離体を手術し、WEリーグカップの開幕2戦は欠場したが、9日のマイナビ仙台レディース戦で実践復帰を果たしている。
中盤には飛躍が期待される谷川萌々子(JFAアカデミー福島)らも招集されているが、アタッキングサードでパサーとしてのアイデアを持つ塩越は、攻撃陣の中でも稀有な存在。2010年、2018年に続く2大会連続3度目の優勝へ向け、塩越はサポーターへメッセージを届けた。
