8日、ユーロ2024予選のグループA第5節ジョージア戦に臨んだスペイン代表。FWアルバロ・モラタのハットトリックや、代表最年少デビューを飾った16歳のFWラミン・ヤマルらのゴールにより、7-1の大勝を収めた。

試合後、デ・ラ・フエンテ監督は今回の結果や内容に大きな満足感を示している。
「試合の分析は非常にポジティブだし、冷静にやらなければならない。我々には欲望、勇気、価値観があり、それらを全ての代表合宿や試合で引き出そうとしている。選手たちには満足している。彼らはその全てにおいて十分だった」

「常に最高のシナリオを考えるが、難しい相手からこのような大勝を収めるのは非常に難しいことだ。これはチームが1分から90分まで献身的に戦った結果だ。このように勝つのはとても難しい」

また、デ・ラ・フエンテ監督はヤマルやFWニコ・ウィリアムズといった若手選手にも言及。ヤマルの活躍に触れながら、若手選手たちが伸び伸びプレーできるチームの状態を高く評価した。

「激アツ」「どっちも可愛い」長谷川唯の“激レア”スペイン代表ユニフォーム姿が話題! イニエスタにも例えられるボンマティの日本代表ユニも話題「なんかエモい」
