オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)の決勝戦に、なでしこジャパンのレジェンドが登場した。20日、女子W杯2023決勝のスペイン女子代表vsイングランド女子代表がスタジアム・オーストラリア(シドニー)で行われ、スペインが1-0で勝利。見事初優勝を果たした。
29分に23歳の若き主将、左サイドバックのオルガ・カルモナが地を這う左足でのダイレクトシュートで右下隅を射抜くと、これが決勝点に。3大会連続3度目のW杯出場にして初の栄冠を手にした。
試合はもちろんこと、キックオフ直前のシーンも注目を集めた。

なでしこジャパン、池田太監督退任で思うこと/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録
JFA(日本サッカー協会)は21日、なでしこジャパン(日本女子代表)の池田太監督(53歳)が、契約満了に伴い退任することを発表した。池田監督は21年の東京五輪後になでしこジャパンの監督に就任。昨年夏のオーストラリア・ニュージーランド共催のW杯はベスト8、メダルを期待されたパリ五輪もベスト8で敗れて悲願のメダルには届かなかった。 JFAの佐々木則夫女子委員長は、世界大会での上位進出には新たな人材が必要と判断し、8月で契約の切れる池田監督に対して契約延長の申し出はしなかったという。そして後任には外国人指導者も対象に含まれるとし、10月26日に国立競技場で開催される予定の親善試合(対戦相手は未定)についても、早急に決める必要はないと監督の人選は含みを持たせた。 関係者の話によると、佐々木委員長は現在のなでしこジャパンのサッカースタイルがカウンターになっていることに危機感を抱いているそうだ。かつてのようにマイボールの時間を長くして、ポゼッションスタイルがなでしこジャパンの本来のスタイルであるべきだと考えている。 確かに佐々木監督は、澤穂希や宮間あやといった稀代の選手とともにW杯で優勝を果たし、ロンドン五輪でも銀メダルを獲得した。なでしこジャパンのポゼッションスタイルは、当時のアメリカのスンドハーゲ監督をして「一度ボールを失ったら取り返すのは難しい」と言わしめるほどだった。 しかしドイツW杯優勝から13年が経ち、ポゼッションスタイルはなでしこジャパンの専売特許ではなくなった。どのチームもマイボールを大切にして、自陣から攻撃を組み立てようとする。もともとフィジカルの能力はなでしこジャパンよりも高い。そんな欧州のチームがボール保持率で日本を上回るのだから、必然的に昨年のW杯初戦のスペイン戦のように、なでしこジャパンはカウンターに活路を見いだすしかないのは自明の理である。 それでも、あくまでポゼッションスタイルにこだわるというのなら、なでしこジャパンはとりかえしのつかないレベルまで落ちてしまうのではないかと危惧している。幸いなのは、新監督に外国人も含まれるという点だ。日本人だとどうしても過去の栄光にとらわれやすく、ポゼッションスタイルからの脱却も難しいのではないだろうか。その点、外国人監督なら現在のなでしこジャパンの実力を正当に判断し、欧州やアメリカなどと台頭に渡りあうにはどうすべきか先入観なしに考えられるのではないだろうか。 技術に多少の難点があっても、ずば抜けて足が速いとか、190センチ近い長身FWを起用するといった“一芸に秀でた”選手の起用でカウンターに徹するのはいかがだろうか。ダメならやめればいいだけだ。金太郎飴ではないが、誰が出ても同じようなサッカースタイルは、一定のレベルを保てるアドバンテージがあるものの、対戦相手にとって慣れてしまえば脅威も半減してしまう危険がある。 ポゼッションスタイルからの進化を図る意味でも、ポゼッションスタイルで成功を収めた佐々木女子委員長の交代もなでしこジャパンの復権に欠かせないのではないだろうか。 2024.08.22 22:30 Thu

BE:FIRSTがアンバサダー就任の「FILA」、かつては中田英寿氏も同ブランドのスパイクを着用

「爽やか〜」「かっこよすぎ」田中碧のニューヘアーが大絶賛、大先輩も「髪型グーやん」
