元イングランド代表MFデイビッド・ベッカム氏の投稿が大きな話題となっている。
現役時代、芸術的な精度を誇る右足のキックや、その甘いマスクからは想像もつかないハードなプレーを武器に、主にマンチェスター・ユナイテッドやレアル・マドリーで活躍したベッカム氏。2002年の日韓・ワールドカップ(W杯)でも来日し、日本での人気も非常に高い。
現在はアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシが加入したインテル・マイアミの共同オーナーを務めている中、「Netflix」でベッカム氏がサッカー界のスター選手になるまでの軌跡を振り返るドキュメンタリーシリーズ『ベッカム』が10月4日から配信開始となることが発表された。
そんな中、ベッカム氏は自身のインスタグラムを更新。番宣も兼ねて『ベッカム』の中でも重要な登場人物となる妻のヴィクトリアさんとの交際当初の貴重な2ショットを投稿している。
貴公子と呼ばれていたのも納得の爽やかなベッカム氏と素敵な笑顔を見せるヴィクトリアさんには、ファンも「二人とも大好き」、「好き好き好き」、「究極のカップル」、「番組が待ちきれない」とコメントしている。
2人はベッカム氏がマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでプレーしていた1997年から交際をスタート。1999年の7月4日に結婚すると、ブルックリン、ロメオ、クルスの3人の息子と、ハーパー・セブンさんという娘も授かっている。

マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのイングランド代表FWジェイドン・サンチョが、チームから完全に追放されることとなったようだ。イギリス『ミラー』が伝えた。
サンチョは3日に行われたアーセナル戦でメンバー外。チームは3-1で敗れた中、エリク・テン・ハグ監督が練習の態度を問題視して外したとコメント。一方で、サンチョは「不公平だ」と公然と監督批判を展開する事態に発展した。
しかし、サンチョはドルトムント時代から遅刻癖があり、ユナイテッド加入後もそれは続いていたとのこと。テン・ハグ監督は集合時間をサンチョだけ遅らせるなどして対策を練っており、最初は効果があったが、徐々にそれも無くなっていったとされている。
サンチョは監督批判を展開したものの、自身のX(旧ツイッター)の投稿を削除。しかし、この発言の影響力は大きく、クラブはファーストチームの活動からサンチョを外すことを発表。追放される形となった。
『ミラー』によれば、サンチョはファーストチームから外されただけでなく、選手たちが使用するチームの施設が全て使用禁止になっていたとのこと。トレーニング施設だけでなく、食堂も使えないため、アカデミーの選手たちと過ごすことになっているという。
サンチョはクラブのこの対応にも不満を持っているとされているが、テン・ハグ監督への謝罪をするつもりはない様子。一方で、テン・ハグ監督は公の場での謝罪をしない限り、チームに戻す気がないことを示している。
ユナイテッドのウイングは、性的暴行疑惑が解消された元イングランド代表FWメイソン・グリーンウッドがヘタフェにレンタル移籍、ブラジル代表FWアントニーは元恋人へのDV疑惑によりチームから外れている状況。謝罪1つでポジションを取り戻せる可能性があるが、現時点でその気はないようだ。

27歳の若さで急死したシェフィールド・ユナイテッド女子チームのMFマディ・キューザックだが、その死は不審な点がなかったようだ。
キューザックは20日の18時35分、ホースリーのレディ・リー・ロードの施設で遺体で発見された。
ダービシャー警察によれば、キューザックはその場で死亡が確認されたとのこと。家族も認識している中、不審なものとしては扱われていないとのことだ。
キューザックは、2019年1月にレスター・シティからシェフィールド・ユナイテッドの女子チームに加入。チーム最古参であり、クラブで100試合出場を達成した最初の選手となっていた。
クラブのマーケティング責任者としても働いていた中で、今オフに契約延長。6年目のシーズンに期待を込めていた中で、不運な死を遂げることとなってしまった。
シェフィールド・ユナイテッドの選手たちは24日に行われたニューカッスル・ユナイテッド戦のキックオフ前、全員が背番号「8」のキューザックのユニフォームを着用して1分間の黙祷を実施。8分にはスタンドから追悼の拍手が送られていた。
なお、チームはニューカッスルに8失点と大敗。8が大きく関係した試合となった。

ナポリでまたしても選手と指揮官が対立した。イタリア『カルチョメルカート』が伝えている。
昨シーズンのセリエA王者ナポリ。33年ぶりに訪れた栄冠の最大の立役者であるルチアーノ・スパレッティ監督(現:イタリア代表)は、契約を巡る不信感もあり仲違いする形でシーズン後に退任。今季からはルディ・ガルシア監督が指揮を執るも、新生ナポリはセリエA開幕5試合で2勝2分け1敗と王者らしからぬスロースタート。第4節のジェノア戦以降は指揮官と主力選手の間に距離があることも報じられる。
昇格組ジェノアとドローに終わった一戦ではジョージア代表FWクヴィチャ・クワラツヘリア、24日に行われた第5節のボローニャ戦ではナイジェリア代表FWビクター・オシムヘンがそれぞれ指揮官への不満を隠そうともしなかった。
クワラツヘリアはジェノア戦の89分、2点ビハインドを追いついて2-2とし、さらに逆転まで…というシチュエーションでガルシア監督から交代を命じられ、ピッチ上であからさまに不満を示す仕草。結局ナポリは勝ち越せないまま終わった。
オシムヘンも0-0で迎えたボローニャ戦の86分、交代を受け入れられず、指揮官に面と向かって大げさなジェスチャー。PKを外したフラストレーションもあったと推察できるが、非常に見苦しい光景であり、ナポリはやはりドローに終わった。
オシムヘンに対してはガルシア監督自ら試合後の記者会見で一定の理解を示し、キャプテンのDFジョバンニ・ディ・ロレンツォはロッカールームで教育的指導に及んだと報じられる。大きく対立する前に責任ある者たちが動いた格好だ。
ただ、『カルチョメルカート』によると、オシムヘンは昨夏のプレシーズン中にもスパレッティ前監督を激怒させ、ファンの目の前で練習から追い出されたことがあったという。
この時は更生し、昨季の大活躍、そしてスパレッティ前監督との信頼関係構築は誰もが知るところ。繰り返されたオシムヘンの悪癖は良くないものだが、ガルシア監督のコントロール能力も気になるところだ。

フランス政府が、スタジアムで起こった同性愛嫌悪のチャントに対し、制裁を求めることとなった。
事件が起こったのは24日に行われたリーグ・アン第6節のパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)vsマルセイユの一戦。PSGが4-0で勝利を収めたが、試合後にスタンドで発生した。
PSGのサポーターが反マルセイユの同性愛嫌悪のチャントを数回歌ったとのこと。これを受け、人種差別や反ユダヤ主義、LGBTなど反差別の担当大臣であるオリヴィエ・クライン氏がX(旧ツイッター)で「パルク・デ・プランスで聞こえる耐え難い同性愛嫌悪の叫びに非常にショックを受けた」と綴った。
また「PSGとLFP(フランスプロサッカーリーグ連盟)に制裁が下せるように連絡するつもりだ。法的手段も検討する」と綴り、なんらかの処分が下るように動く予定だとした。
さらに、スポーツ・オリンピック大臣のアメリー・ウデア=カステラ氏もXを更新。すでに「断固とした対応」のため、LFPの懲戒委員会に報告しているとのことだ。
