残留争い真っ只中のエバートン、降格ならピックフォード売却やむなし?

エバートンは、契約を延長したばかりのイングランド代表GKジョーダン・ピックフォード(29)を売却せざるを得なくなる可能性があるようだ。イギリス『サン』が伝えている。

イングランド代表の正GKでもあるピックフォードとの契約を2027年6月まで延長したばかりのエバートン。現在プレミアリーグで15位と残留争いを強いられており、来季チャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)に降格する可能性が捨てきれない状況だ。

過去3年間で3億7200万ポンド(約604億円)の損失を計上するなど財政難にあえぐなか、降格となればさらなる収益減少は必至。ピックフォードをたとえ安価でも売却せざるを得ない状況になり、トッテナムがそれを睨んでいるという。

トッテナムは正GKである元フランス代表GKウーゴ・ロリス(36)の後継者としてピックフォードに注目。その他にはアストン・ビラのアルゼンチン代表GKエミリアーノ・マルティネス(30)にも関心を寄せているとされている。

なお、エバートンはピックフォードを狙うクラブに対し、現段階で3500万ポンド(約56億9000万円)を要求する考え。ショーン・ダイチ監督就任後、7試合で3勝1分け3敗と勝ち点10を積み上げており、残留へ希望も出てきた状況。ただ、降格となった場合はより安い値段で手放すことになると予想されている。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】
