UEFA女子チャンピオンズリーグ(UWCL)のグループステージ全日程が終了し、準々決勝進出チームが決定した。日本人所属の3チーム、熊谷紗希のバイエルン、岩渕真奈のアーセナル、南萌華のローマも勝ち残っている。
UWCLは第5節の時点で、グループCを除いた6チームがノックアウトステージ進出を決めていた。21日から22日にかけて行われた最終節では、そのグループCと各組の順位争いに焦点が当たった。
グループCはアーセナル、リヨン(ともに勝ち点10)、ユベントス(勝ち点8)の三つ巴となり、21日の最終節ではディフェンディングチャンピオンのリヨンがユベントスとゴールレスドロー。アーセナルは岩渕のゴールを含む大量得点でFCチューリッヒに9-1と快勝した。
この結果、アーセナルとリヨンがグループステージを突破。アーセナルは過去最多となる15回目のベスト8入りを果たしている。

英紙による「世界ベスト女子選手100人」が公表開始!なでしこ勢は41位までに3人、トップ10は12日公開

ロングスローで37.55m、女子のギネス記録を熊谷紗希の同僚が達成「特別に努力したことはない」
