負傷抱えるアルフォンソ・デイビスは日本戦を回避…

バイエルンのカナダ代表DFアルフォンソ・デイビスが、日本代表戦を欠場することになった。『ロイター通信』が伝えている。

デイビスは、今月5日に行われたブンデスリーガ第13節のヘルタ・ベルリン戦で右ハムストリングを負傷。バイエルンでの以降2試合を欠場していたが、先日に発表されたカナダ代表の招集メンバーには無事選出されていた。

しかし、現時点で負傷は完治しておらず、17日に行われる日本との大会前最後のテストマッチに向けた公式会見に出席したジョン・ハードマン監督は、デイビスの日本戦欠場を明言した。
なお、カナダの初戦は23日に行われるベルギー代表戦となっている。

1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

在籍12年、女子と男子の代表でW杯出場を果たしたハードマン監督がカナダ代表監督を辞任…10月からトロントFCの監督就任「新たな挑戦に踏み出す時期」

カナダサッカー協会(CSA)は28日、カナダ代表のジョン・ハードマン監督(48)の辞任を発表した。また、メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のトロントFCの監督に就任することも発表されている。 ハードマン監督は、ニュージーランド女子代表やカナダ女子代表の監督を歴任。2018年1月にカナダ代表監督に就任していた。 チームを見事に強化すると、36年ぶりにワールドカップ(W杯)出場を決め、カタールW杯に参加。男女のチームでW杯出場を果たした初の監督となった。 2026年にはアメリカ、メキシコと共にカナダでもW杯が開催され、2大会連続での指揮が期待された中、辞任が決定した。女子代表で101試合、男子代表で58試合を指揮。女子では2012年のロンドン・オリンピックで初となる銅メダルを獲得し、リオ・デ・ジャネイロ・オリンピックでは2大会連続で銅メダルを獲得していた。 ハードマン監督はCSAを通じてコメントしている。 「過去12年間カナダを代表して選手、スタッフ、サポーターと共有できた素晴らしい機会に感謝している」 「僕は現状を変えることを目指して、2011年にニュージーランドからやってきた。2012年のロンドン、2015年のW杯、2016年のリオ、2016年のW杯予選での経験を通じて、多くの深いつながりを築くことができた」 「2022年、そして2022年カタールW杯。目標は常に試合をより良い状況で終えることであり、カナダにとってその目標は達成されたと確信している」 「男子代表の選手たちには感謝したい。チームの一員でなければ、過去5年間に達成したことに費やされた犠牲、痛み、そして努力の量を理解するのは難しい」 「その間に我々が築いてきた信念と信頼のレベル、我々が築いている兄弟の絆の強さは、これからも大切にし続けるものであり、間違いなく寂しく思うものだ」 「2022年はチームの旅の始まりに過ぎなかったが、チームが個人としてもグループとしてもさらに大きな目標を達成していくのを見るのが楽しみだ」 「過去12年間は私にとって意味のあるものだったが、私は自分自身をよく知っており、ポジティブな変化に影響を与えること、チームや組織を大規模な変化に導くというチャレンジによって動機づけられている事を理解している」 また、トロントFCを通じては監督就任に向けてコメント。10月1日付で監督に就任することへ意気込みを語った。 「私はトロントFCと共にこの新たな機会をスタートさせたいと思っている。個人的には、今は自分のキャリアにおいて新たな挑戦に足を踏み入れるのにふさわしい時期であり、クラブ環境の構造は私が活動する事を熱望してきた環境だ。毎日スタッフや選手と繋がり、協力することができることで、ピッチ内外での発展とつながりの深さが異なる」 「よく知っているカナダの街で監督としての旅を続け、素晴らしいファンと共に私のお気に入りのスポーツの瞬間を経験しスタジアムであるBMOフィールドでプレーすることは、とても素晴らしいことだ」 「このプロジェクトで私を信頼してくれたビル・マニング社長に感謝したいと思う。このチームとこのレベルの組織で働くことに意欲を感じている」 2023.08.29 11:05 Tue
