セルティックが元イングランド代表GKハート、アイルランド代表MFマッカーシーを完全移籍で獲得

セルティックは3日、トッテナムの元イングランド代表GKジョー・ハート(34)、クリスタル・パレスのアイルランド代表MFジェームズ・マッカーシー(30)の獲得を発表した。

ハートは2024年6月30日までの3年契約、マッカーシーは2025年6月30日までの4年契約を締結した。

ハートはマンチェスター・シティやバーミンガム・シティ、トリノ、ウェストハム、バーンリーなどでプレー。2020年8月にトッテナムへと完全移籍した。
キャリアを通じてプレミアリーグでは340試合に出場。127試合でクリーンシートを達成している。また、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でも39試合、セリエAでも36試合出場と経験豊富だ。

また一時期はイングランド代表の正守護神を務め、75試合に出場。ワールドカップに1度、ユーロに2度出場経験がある。
マッカーシーは、セルティックの下部組織出身で、ウィガンやエバートン、クリスタル・パレスでプレー。16年ぶりに古巣へと復帰することとなった。

プレミアリーグでは272試合に出場し13ゴール16アシスト。スコティッシュ・プレミアシップでも37試合に出場し6ゴール4アシストを記録している。

アイルランド代表としても42試合に出場している。

アンジェ・ポステコグルー監督は、両選手の獲得についてコメントしている。

「ジョーとジェームズの2人のトップクラスの選手と契約できたことを嬉しく思う。どちらもクラブレベル、国際レベルの両方で豊富な経験を持っており、チームに利益をもたらすだろう。私は両選手と一緒に働くことを楽しみにしている」

ルーニーが圧巻FK弾でOT沸かす! ユナイテッドvsセルティックのレジェンズマッチ開催

「これ以上良いストーリーは書けなかった」セルティック復帰のジョタ、前田大然のアシストから初戦ゴールに「まるで昔を思い出すよう」
