スペイン代表のMFコケが、ユーロ2020・ラウンド16のクロアチア代表戦や、フランス代表vsスイス代表の結果を受けて、最後まで集中することの重要性を強調した。

2日に準々決勝のスイス戦が控えるスペイン。ラウンド16におけるスイスは、1-3とリードされながらも81分と90分に立て続けに得点を挙げる粘り強さを発揮し、PK戦までもつれ込んだ末に優勝候補の一角だったフランスを下した。

一方、スペインはクロアチアとの試合で3-1とリードしたものの85分と92分に連続でゴールを許し、同点に追いつかれながらも延長戦にFWアルバロ・モラタとFWミケル・オヤルサバルの得点で辛くも準々決勝に進出している。
コケはそんな2試合の結果を踏まえて、近年のユーロにおいて簡単な試合は存在しないと断言。ともすればフランスと同じ轍を踏む可能性があったと、警戒を強めている。

「ユーロ2020はクレイジーな大会で、最近はスモールチームというものが存在しない。どのチームにも勝つ力があるため、試合を制するのは簡単ではないんだ」

「同じことが(クロアチア戦で)僕たちにも起こりそうだったんだ」

それでも無事に勝利を収めたクロアチア戦については、「僕たちはとても幸せだよ。苦しみ、戦い、努力した結果、次のラウンドに進むことができたんだから」とコケ。スイス戦に向けても「ユーロの準々決勝はなかなか経験できるものではないからね。試合を楽しみにしているよ」と意気込みを語った。

グループステージを首位通過となった6カ国のうち3カ国が敗退し、3位通過となった4カ国のうち3カ国がベスト8に残った今回のユーロ。下剋上ムードの中、スペインはスイスを下して2大会ぶりの準決勝進出となるだろうか。

「激アツ」「どっちも可愛い」長谷川唯の“激レア”スペイン代表ユニフォーム姿が話題! イニエスタにも例えられるボンマティの日本代表ユニも話題「なんかエモい」

スペイン代表及びサッカー連盟のエンブレムデザインが変更!「エレガンスでシンプルでありながら、パワフル」

スペイン代表が“日の丸ハチマキ”で日本戦勝利を誓うも意味が分からずチグハグなことに?「これ日本が優勝するってことじゃん」

「99%の希望を失った」スペインの名医がガビの負傷に言及「劇的な状況になってしまう」、原因は「選手の試合数」
