シソコは28日に行われたユーロ2020ラウンド16のスイス代表戦で、88分から途中出場。3-2のスコアでリードしている状況のなか、試合を終わらせる役目が期待されていたが90分に失点を許して同点に。その後は延長戦でも決着がつかずPK戦にまでもつれ込んだ結果、5人目のキッカーであるFWキリアン・ムバッペのシュートが止められたことでフランスの敗北が決定した。

これにより、大会優勝候補と目されていたフランスのラウンド16敗退が決定。期待に反した早過ぎる敗退について、試合後のインタビューに応じたシソコも深い失望を口にしている。
「僕たちは守備が堅いことに慣れているチームだ。だから3-1の状況から、チームがあのようになってしまうのは珍しい。もしかしたら、前の試合に比べて守りが甘かったかもしれないね。悔しいし、辛いよ。この結果は受け入れる必要があり、気を引き締めなければならないが、時間はかかるだろう」

「間違いなく、代表での最大の失望だ。ユーロ2016決勝で敗れた瞬間を忘れずにいたとしてもね。3-1になった時点で、終盤もっとうまく処理すべきだったんだ。ドレッシングルームでは全員が失望している。監督は皆の失望を見ており、僕らも見ていた。彼は適切な言葉をかけてくれたよ。この結果の責任は皆で取っていきたい」
「フィジカル的な問題があったと思う。前半も、後半の最初の30分も、チームは本当にたくさんのことをしていた。ただ3-1になってからは、少し気が緩んでいたかもしれない。本来は肉体的にも精神的にも余裕を持って臨むべきだった。その部分では、不足していたと思う」

VARとの戦いが見たかった“駆け引き”に生きた生粋のゴールハンター、フィリッポ・インザーギ

世界的に大きな話題を呼び、注目を集めたアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシのバルセロナ退団。そして、ビッグクラブへの階段を上っているパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)への移籍は大きなニュースとなった。 退団発表から加入発表までは5日間と、ことは迅速に進められたが、体感としてはそれ以上に長く感じたものだ。 悲願のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)制覇を目指すPSGにおいて、今夏はフリートランスファーで多くの実力者を獲得。オランダ代表MFジョルジニオ・ワイナルドゥム、スペイン代表DFセルヒオ・ラモス、イタリア代表GKジャンルイジ・ドンナルンマ、そしてメッシの4名を移籍金なしで獲得したのだから驚きだ。 「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 「史上最高のセーブ」「神の脚」アルゼンチン代表GKマルティネスが優勝呼び込むセーブの左脚にW杯トロフィーのタトゥー…しかし注目は4本に見える指に「どこに行った?」

セネガル出身のエヴラ氏、フランス代表入りを後悔「過去に戻れるならセネガルを選ぶ」

かつて世界最高の左サイドバックの1人と言われたパトリス・エヴラ氏が、フランス代表を選択した過去を後悔していると口にした。ナイジェリア『Sports Brief』が伝えている。 セネガルの首都ダカールで生を受けるも、育ちはフランスというエヴラ氏。現役時代はマンチェスター・ユナイテッドで長く活躍し、5度のプレミアリーグ優勝のほか、2007-08シーズンには主軸としてチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)制覇に貢献している。 フランス代表としては通算81キャップ。だが、主将として臨んだ2010年の南アフリカ・ワールドカップ(W杯)では、チームの内紛が練習ボイコットにまで発展し、自身も大会終了前にチームから追放されるなど、クラブキャリアの成功に比べると、苦い思い出が多い。 そんなエヴラ氏は先日、西アフリカでの自身のサッカー事業の一環として訪れたガーナで、同国のナナ・アクフォ=アド大統領と会談。その中で、母国セネガルではなくフランス代表を選んだことを後悔していると語ったという。 「過去に戻れるならフランスではなく、生まれ故郷のセネガルを代表する道を選ぶでしょう。私はダカールで生まれましたが、フランスで育ちました」 「この選択で私が学んだ苦痛な教訓は、良いプレーをして勝利した時はフランス人として称賛され、チームが負けようものならセネガル人として扱われることです」 「私はアフリカの今の若い世代に、君たちが自分の生まれた国でのプレーを選んでも、成功への扉は開いている。ということを伝えていかなくてはなりません」 前述のW杯での一件もあってか、現在もなお、フランス代表に対して良く思っていないことをうかがわせた格好だ。 2022.09.17 17:12 Sat
