「意識が飛んでいた」と告白したフランス代表DFパヴァール、UEFAがサッカー連盟に聞き取り

欧州サッカー連盟(UEFA)が、フランスサッカー連盟(FFF)に調査を行なっていたようだ。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。

UEFAが問題視したのは、15日に行われたグループF第1節のフランス代表vsドイツ代表での出来事。後半にフランスのDFバンジャマン・パヴァールがドイツのDFロビン・ゴセンズと激突していた。

パヴァールは「僕はひどい打撃を受けた。10秒から15秒間少し意識が飛んでいた」とコメント。脳震とう気味だったことを告白していた。

UEFAは、この件に対してプロトコルが守られていたかどうかを調査しているとのことだ。

これまでは脳震とうに関して、「チームの選手が脳震とうを起こした疑いがある場合、トレーニング中か試合中かを問わず、すぐにピッチから出ることとなっている」とされていた。

Jリーグでは今シーズンから脳震とうがあった場合は1名まで追加で交代が認められているが、今回のユーロ2020ではそのルールはなく、交代枠を使うこととなる。

今大会ではデンマーク代表MFクリスティアン・エリクセンが試合中に突如倒れ、意識不明に。一命を取り留めたが、最悪の事態も考えられた。大きな不安がよぎった大会で、パヴァールも最悪の事態になる可能性があっただけに、再考されるべき事案だろう。

脳損傷協会(Headway)の最高責任者であるピーター・マッケイブ氏はこの件について「これはサッカー当局が選手の短期的および長期的な健康を保護できなかった1つの例だ」とコメント。「パヴァールが転倒から身を守れなかったことは誰の目にも明らかだった。意識を失ったというパヴァールの発言は、この事故の深刻さを裏付けている」とコメント。脳震とうに対する認識の甘さ、可能性を考慮しないことへ苦言を呈していた。
