クラブのアイコンであり、主将も務めるグリーリッシュだが、2月21日に行われたプレミアリーグ第25節のレスター・シティ戦を負傷欠場。足のケガにより、それから復帰できず、今月の代表ウィークを迎えた状況だった。
そのため、イングランド代表からも外れたグリーリッシュだが、アストン・ビラが29日、同日からのトレーニング復帰を発表。ディーン・スミス監督は4月4日に行われる第30節のフルアム戦での復帰を期待しているという。
チームとともに昨季から舞い戻ったプレミアリーグで輝きを放つグリーリッシュは今季もここまで22試合の出場で6得点12アシストを記録。グリーリッシュ離脱後のチームは6試合で1勝しか掴めず、3得点にとどまっている。

乱入男がラリアット! アストン・ビラMFグリーリッシュが試合中に襲撃される

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ
