マンチェスター・シティは6日、U-19スペイン代表MFママドゥ・スソホ(19)がフットボールリーグ1(イングランド3部)のピーターバラ・ユナイテッドへレンタル移籍したことを発表した。レンタル期間は2024-25シーズンいっぱいとなる。

ガンビア人の両親の下、スペインで生まれ育ったスソホは、2017年にエスパニョールのカンテラからシティのアカデミーに加入。U-18チーム、U-21チームと順調にステップアップすると、2023年12月に行われたチャンピオンズリーグのツルヴェナ・ズヴェズダ戦でファーストチームデビュー。以降は出場機会こそなかったものの、公式戦11試合でベンチ入りしていた。また、昨シーズンのプレミアリーグ2では12試合に出場し、2ゴールを挙げていた。守備的MFを主戦場にセンターバックや右サイドバックもこなすマルチロールは、安定した技術と粘り強い守備を特長としている。PR

復活した「OASIS」のノエル・ギャラガーがシティのユニフォームをデザイン!ファンも歓喜!「信じられない」「完璧だ」「とても美しいデザイン」
