ソランケがデビュー戦以来7年ぶりの代表復帰! イングランド代表メンバーが発表【UEFAネーショングリーグ】

前イングランド代表監督のサウスゲイト氏、オファー受諾で新天地が決定か
イングランド代表の前指揮官、ガレス・サウスゲイト氏がUEFAの要職入りへ。 ユーロ2024をもってイングランド代表監督辞任のサウスゲイト氏。イギリス『ミラー』によると、同氏はUEFAから届いた技術委員会常任メンバーの就任オファーを受諾したという。 ユーロ直前には昨季のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)決勝、レアル・マドリーvsドルトムントの技術報告書作成にもテクニカルオブザーバーとして招かれていたサウスゲイト氏。 技術委員会の仕事をざっくり言うと、コーチングの観点から試合を分析し、試合中に起きる“新たな傾向”を見つける、というもの。最先端の視覚化ツールと膨大な量のデータも用いる「アナリスト」だ。 著名なところでは、オーレ・グンナー・スールシャール氏やファビオ・カペッロ氏などが技術委員会に在籍。今回、サウスゲイト氏とともに前ウェストハム指揮官のデイビッド・モイーズ氏も常任メンバー入りとなるようだ。 『ミラー』はサウスゲイト氏について、「現場復帰の計画を公言せずも、監督解任がちらほら出る時期になれば、オファーに困ることはなさそうだ」と、遅かれ早かれUEFAを離れて監督業に戻ると予想している。 2024.08.23 11:05 Fri

将来的にランパード・イングランド誕生も? 「『絶対に興味ない』と言うのはどうかしている」
指導者キャリアがストップするフランク・ランパード氏だが、イングランド代表の指揮が夢の1つのようだ。 現役時代は言わずもがな、チェルシー、そしてイングランド代表で輝かしいキャリアを築いたランパード氏。引退してからはダービー・カウンティで指導者としての第一歩を踏み出し、チェルシーやエバートンも指揮したが、いずれも解任とうまくいっていない。 最近では2023年4月から暫定的な指揮を任され、2度目のチェルシー帰還を果たしたが、立て直しといかず、シーズン終了後に予定どおりに退任。以降は無所属が続き、現在は『Amazon Prime』のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)中継で解説を務める。 指導者としてはここまで苦戦が続くが、『The Sports Agents』のポッドキャストに出演した際、イングランド代表監督就任の可能性に前向きな発言を残す。イギリス『フットボール・ロンドン』が報じた。 「100試合以上もプレーしたイングランド人の選手としても、とても誇らしく思うイングランド人としても、イングランド代表はもちろん、特別なもの。イングランドのためにあれほど多くプレーするなんて夢にも思っていなかった。ましてや監督としてなんね」 「だから、いち監督として、『いや、絶対に興味がない』と言うのはどうかしていると思う。だが、彼らが私にやってほしいという思いがあり、私がやりたいと思うことでなければならない。で、私が何かしらの形で付加価値をもたらせると思えないといけない」 なお、イングランド代表は先のユーロ2024をもってガレス・サウスゲイト監督が辞任。それ以降、リー・カーズリー氏が暫定的に指揮を執り、正式監督の不在が続く。 2024.10.04 12:30 Fri

「『急いで決断するな』と言い忘れた」 辞任サウスゲイトにヴェンゲル氏が後悔
元アーセナル監督のアーセン・ヴェンゲル氏はイングランド代表指揮官のガレス・サウスゲイト氏が素晴らしい仕事をしたとの認識を持つようだ。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が報じた。 2016年9月の暫定的な就任から先のユーロ2024終了後に辞するまで約8年間にわたってイングランドを率いたサウスゲイト氏。通算102試合を戦ったなかで、4つのメジャー大会に挑戦したが、どれも惜しいところまで進みながら一歩及ばず(ロシアW杯:ベスト4、ユーロ2020:準優勝、カタールW杯:ベスト8、ユーロ2024:準優勝)、その後に辞任した。 2大会連続の準優勝に終わった今回のユーロではタレント揃いのチームと思えぬすっきりしない戦いぶりで批判されたりもしたが、 国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)の国際発展部門でトップを務めるヴェンゲル氏はサウスゲイト氏に対して、辞任を決める前にもっと時間をかけるよう諭すべきだったと悔いているようだ。 「私は決勝戦の直後にサウスゲイトに会ったが、『急いで決断するな』と言い忘れてしまった。あのような決勝で負けると、48時間以内に辞任をと考えてしまうものだからだ。だから、それが唯一の後悔だね。だが、こうなったからには彼がやった仕事を続けられる有能な人材と契約しないといけない」 ヴェンゲル氏はまた、注目の後任人事に「このチームは優勝まであと1ヤードに迫る100mのランナーみたいなもの。つまり、最後の1ヤードを目指してほしいということだ。おそらく経験があって、選手からの信頼も厚い人物が良いかもね」とし、サウスゲイト氏に賛辞を送りながら、今後のイングランドに期待した。 「イングランドは優勝に非常に近いところにいる。それだけの素質があるし、次のW杯へ応援していかないとね。全体的に見ても、サウスゲイトは素晴らしい仕事をしたと言わざるをえない。再び自信と質を備えたチームを作り上げたんだ」 2024.08.09 16:45 Fri

「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。
