アストン・ビラは1日、サウサンプトンのポーランド代表DFヤン・ベドナレク(26)をレンタル移籍で獲得したことを発表した。

2017年7月にレフ・ポズナンから完全移籍でサウサンプトンへと加入したベドナレク。センターバックとしてこれまでチームを支えた。

サウサンプトンでは公式戦153試合で7ゴール4アシスト。日本代表DF吉田麻也とも最終ラインを形成するなどした。
昨シーズンもプレミアリーグで31試合に出場し4ゴールを記録するなど、主軸としてプレーしていた。

なお、ポーランド代表として42試合に出場し1ゴールを記録している。
アストン・ビラは、今夏セビージャから獲得したブラジル人DFジエゴ・カルロスが開幕2戦目でアキレス腱断裂の重傷。守備の要として期待していた中での長期離脱となると、その後3連敗と結果が出ておらず、CBの補強が急務だった。

日本人6人目を獲得したサウサンプトン/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録

今冬のヨーロッパの移籍マーケットは2月3日がタイムリミットだが、いまのところ日本人選手に大きな動きはない。セルティックの古橋亨梧がフランス・リーグ1部のスタッド・レンヌへ完全移籍したのは意外だったものの、“2強"のスコットランド・リーグから5大リーグへの移籍で結果を残せるか注目の集まるところだ。 プレミアリーグへの移籍が噂される久保建英だが、果たして実現するのか。ブライトンの三笘薫にはサウジアラビアのアル・ナスルが巨額の移籍金(96億円)でオファーを出したようだが、クラブはこれを拒否しただけに実現の可能性はほとんどないだろう。あとはリーグ戦での出番が少ないリバプールの遠藤航に他クラブからオファーが届くのかどうか。今年2月で32歳になるだけに、移籍に関しては微妙な年齢でもある。 そんなプレミア・リーグで注目しているのが、日章学園からサウサンプトン入りする高岡伶颯だ。2023年11月にインドネシアで開催されたU-17W杯でポーランド、アルゼンチン、セネガルとの3試合で高岡は、3戦連続となる計4ゴールをマーク。アルゼンチンには敗れたものの、途中出場だったポーランド戦とセネガル戦で日本を勝利に導いた。その後は24年4月に日本高校選抜の一員として、デュッセルドルフ国際ユース大会に出場するとチームトップタイの3ゴールをあげた。 高岡は現在、U-20日本代表の一員として2月10日に中国・深圳でスタートするAFC U-20アジアカップに参加予定でいる。グループリーグDでタイ、シリア、韓国と対戦し、準々決勝をクリアしてベスト4に進出すれば9月27日にチリで開幕するU-20W杯への出場権を獲得できる。彼のサクセスストーリーがどこまで続くのか、こちらも興味深い。 そしてサウサンプトンである。南部の古豪であり、現在は菅原由勢が所属し、昨夏には松木玖生も移籍した(現在はトルコ1部のギョズテペSKへレンタル移籍中)。高岡の移籍で(レンタルに出されなければ)、複数の日本人がプレーするプレミア・リーグのクラブとなる。彼らだけでなく、過去には李忠成(2011-2013)、吉田麻也(2012-2020)、南野拓実(2021)らも所属した。 近隣のブライトンには三笘がいるし、隣接するサウスコーストダービーの相手ポーツマスには川口能活も所属していた。資金力ではロンドンのビッグクラブや北部のリバプール、マンチェスターの2強に遠く及ばないだけに、「安くて将来性のある」Jリーガーを獲得するのが南部のクラブのトレンドになりつつあるのかもしれない。 サウサンプトンのユース出身者はアラン・シアラーやガレス・ベイルなどイングランドとウェールズを代表するストライカーも輩出している。育成型のクラブだけに、高岡の選択は賢明だと言えるだろう。 クラブは2001年8月にホームスタジアムを103年間使用したザ・デルからセント・メリーズ・スタジアムへ移転。この完成したばかりのスタジアムで、同年10月7日にトルシエ・ジャパンはナイジェリアと対戦した。試合は日本が柳沢敦と鈴木隆行のゴールで2-2と引き分けた。 真新しいスタジアムの正面ゲート上部には、クラブ最多227ゴールを決めたレジェンドFWミック・シャノン(1966-77、1972-82)の名前が冠されていて、等身大の写真パネルも飾られていた。かつて憧れた選手だけに、感慨もひとしおだった記憶がある(シャノンは現役引退後に競走馬の調教師としても成功)。 2025.01.31 23:00 Fri

12歳でアメリカへと渡り、世界に名を馳せる寄宿学校・スポーツトレーニング施設の「IMGアカデミー」に入学。その後、大学へ進学しメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のドラフト1巡目で指名されたMF木島萌生(22)。プロ2年目を迎え、シーズン初ゴールを決めた中、11日にメディアのオンライン取材に応じた。 IMGアカデミーからウェイク・フォレスト大学へと進学した木島。MLS2024スーパードラフトの1巡目でセントルイス・シティSCに指名されて加入すると、プロ1年目はMLSで18試合に出場し1ゴール1アシスト。CONCACAFチャンピオンズカップでも2試合で1ゴールを記録していた。 オフには、今シーズンからMLSに参入するサンディエゴFCにドラフト指名された木島。しかし、DCユナイテッドが金銭トレードで獲得し、新天地でプレー。開幕から試合に出ると、8日に行われた第3節のスポルティング・カンザスシティ戦では移籍後初ゴールを記録し、チームを勝利に導いていた。 <h3>◆錦織圭に影響受け12歳で渡米</h3> 日本サッカー界においては異色の経歴を歩んでいる木島。サッカーを始めたキッカケは「ものを蹴る癖があった」からだとし、水泳をやっていた幼少期にサッカーに転向。9歳から始めると、11歳でIMGキャンプに参加。そしてアメリカ行きを決断した。 木島がIMGアカデミーに興味を持ったキッカケはプロテニスプレーヤーの錦織圭。競技は異なるが「錦織圭選手がIMGアカデミーで修行していたことを知って、キャンプに行ってみようということで1カ月間サッカーのキャンプに行き、IMGから学校に行かないかと声をかけられて、僕もすぐに行きたいという形で、あまり考えずに決断しました」とアメリカ行きまでの流れを明かした。 12歳でアメリカへと移った木島だが、「高校生がメインで、12歳から行く人は珍しく、16〜19歳ぐらいが一番多かったです」と、自身はかなり若かったと当時を回想。そして、プロサッカー選手になる気は当初はなかったという。 「最初はプロになるという目標は立てていなくて、IMGに通い始めて3年後ぐらいにプロになりたいと決断しました。学校で成績を上げながら、英語を学ぶということをメインにしていました」 およそ10年前のアメリカを考えれば、まだまだサッカーは下火の時代。スター選手がヨーロッパなどから移籍してプレーすることはあれど、野球、バスケットボール、アメリカンフットボールなどには及ばない時代だ。 「IMGアカデミーはスポーツも増えてきていますが、当時はサッカーのプログラム自体はあまり人気ではなかったです。サッカーだけで、男子と女子を合わせて100〜150人ぐらいいました」 決して簡単ではない環境でスタートした木島。12歳での渡米に家族の反応は「僕が行きたいと言ったら、母親は『絶対ダメでしょ』、父親は『行かせてあげな』という感じでした」とのこと。ただ、「2人ともグローバルな考え方で、僕は英語を元々喋れていて、日本にいては上達しないと思っていて、アメリカに行った方が上達するだろうという考えの親でした」と、グローバルな視点は持ち合わせた両親だったという。 日本ではインターナショナルスクールに通っており、いわゆる日本の学校は経験したことがない木島。12歳での決断から現在はプロとしてプレー。「親の気持ちは分からないですが、母親に対して見返してやったという気持ちもありますが、ありがたい気持ちです」と、協力してくれていた両親には感謝の気持ちが強いと明かした。 <h3>◆夢は「日本代表」</h3> プロを志したのがIMGアカデミー時代の15歳。ただ、当時の実力ではプロになるのは難しいと感じていたという。 「プロに行きたいという気持ちになったのが15歳の時で、当時は今じゃ足りないという考えを持っていました。練習と勉強に励んで、良い大学に入れるように頑張っていた中で、大学もオファーが少なくてウェイクフォレスト大学へ行きました」 ウェイクフォレスト大学はアメリカ・ノースカロライナ州にある大学。スポーツも有名な学校であり、NBAのサンアントニオ・スパーズのレジェンドでもあるティム・ダンカンやNBA歴代2位のアシストを誇るクリス・ポール(サンアントニオ・スパーズ)などはバスケットボール部出身だ。 木島は「ウェイクフォレストでの成長が一番だと思っていて、そこがなければ今はないと思っています。ボビー・ムース監督からも色々な事を学んでいましたし、ウェイクフォレスト、そしIMGのおかげでもあります」とコメント。2015年から指揮するムース監督の下、ウェイクフォレスト大学は数々のタイトルを獲得。木島も大きく成長させてもらったようだ。 日本にいた当時は「県トレセンの予選に受かる程度」と高いレベルではなかったと振り返る木島だが、アメリカでプロになれた要因は「努力です。自分としては才能はないと考えていて、努力のみで来たと考えています」と、継続してきたことが大事だったとコメント。そして自身が好む戦術を学ぶことが、自身の価値を上げていると語った。 「大学に入ってから試合を分析することにハマり、1人のサッカー選手に憧れはなかったですが、戦術的に偽サイドバックがすごく好きでした」 「大学で左サイドバックが僕の最初のポジションで、真ん中にその後に移動したんですが、サイドバックから試合中にミッドフィルダーになれるという戦術を見ると興奮してしまって、サッカーを進化させるアイデアはいつでも探しています」 「今はフェルナンド・ジニス監督の戦術を学んでいたり、キャンプでは本人に会えて話ができたり、そうしたことに興味があります」 ブラジルのクラブや暫定的にブラジル代表も指揮したフェルナンド・ジニス監督のことを学んでいるという木島。戦術を学ぶことが、自身のプレーにも生きているという。 「ユーティリティな選手だと自分としては思っています。サイドバックやウインガーとしてもプレーできますし、ボランチ、トップ下もできます。戦術的なことも勉強しているので、どんなシステムでもプレーできることが強みだと思います」 多くのポジションで、様々な戦術に対応できる自信を窺わせた木島。夢は日本代表だ。 「MLSのDCユナイテッドのチームのために活躍、貢献することに集中しています」 「日本代表は夢にありますし、まだまだですが将来に入れるチャンスがあれば、日本のために、日本代表のために貢献したいと思います」 「(ヨーロッパについて)行きたい夢はありますが、実力も足りないですし、今はDCユナイテッドのために集中して力をあげていきたいと思います」 <h3>◆アメリカで世界を体感し成長</h3> 異色の経歴を歩んでいる木島。MLSではインテル・マイアミとも対戦し、アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシらとも対峙した。ただ、そこでも手応えはあったという。 「メッシ選手はもちろん対戦した時はめちゃくちゃ上手かったです」 「凄くビックリしたことが、小さい頃からグアルディオラ監督のバルセロナの試合を何試合も観て勉強していたのを覚えていて、ブスケッツ、スアレス、ジョルディ・アルバもそうですが、各選手がボールを受けた時に次の動きをフィールド上でも読みやすくなっていました」 「ブスケッツであれば右にターンするフリをして左にカットしてくるのをそれを読んでボールを奪ったり、メッシも左に行きたがるというところを見て、抜かれた時もありましたが、ボールを取れた時もあって、自分でもビックリしました」 着実にプロの舞台で成長を続ける木島。MLSでは日本代表のキャプテンであったDF吉田麻也やW杯を経験しているDF山根視来など、木島を含め7人の日本人がプレーしている。 「吉田麻也選手もユニフォーム交換してもらえて嬉しかったですし、小さい頃から日本代表で活躍されていたのを見ていたので、言葉が出ないぐらいの感動でした」と交流があったことを振り返り、「吉田選手はリーダーシップが強みであるので、LAギャラクシーではキャプテンとして左サイドがスペイン語で話して右サイドは日本語、真ん中は英語で話すということを聞いて、凄く学びましたし、吉田選手が僕に話してくれたことが凄く嬉しかったです」と刺激も受けていると明かした。 プロ2年目の22歳。来年にはアメリカでワールドカップも開催される。このまま成長を続け、夢の日本代表入りを果たす日が来る日を楽しみにしたい。 <span class="paragraph-title">【動画】木島萌生が移籍後&今季のMLSで初ゴール!</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <script>var video_id ="lsIV-THjQ3Y";var video_start = 345;</script><div style="text-align:center;"><div id="player"></div></div><script src="https://web.ultra-soccer.jp/js/youtube_autoplay.js"></script> 2025.03.11 18:00 Tue

「めっちゃフロンターレ」U-24日本代表に並ぶ面子にOA枠の吉田麻也も驚き「ファンも喜ぶ」

ドルトムント退団のマルコ・ロイスがアメリカに!吉田麻也&山根視来のロサンゼルス・ギャラクシー加入が決定、2年半契約を締結

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ
