シティ、フェルナンジーニョ退団の場合の後釜はライスに!

マンチェスター・シティはブラジル代表MFフェルナンジーニョ(36)が今シーズン限りで退団した場合、ウェストハムのイングランド代表DFデクラン・ライス(22)の獲得に動く構えだ。イギリス『タイムズ』が報じている。

2013年夏にシャフタール・ドネツクから加入し、今季で在籍9年目を迎えているフェルナンジーニョ。ジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督就任以降は主力に君臨し、元スペイン代表MFダビド・シルバの退団を受けて、今シーズンからキャプテンを務めている。

スペイン代表MFロドリゴ・エルナンデス加入後は守備的MFのバックアッパーがメインタスクも、36歳のバースデーに開催された4日のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)準決勝2ndレグのパリ・サンジェルマン戦では攻守両面で健在ぶりを発揮。まだまだ第一線での活躍は十分に可能だ。
ただ、シティとの現行契約は今シーズン限りとなっており、現時点で契約延長の可能性は微妙なところだ。また、先日に同選手の代理人は古巣アトレチコ・パラナエンセへの復帰の可能性を含め、現時点で他クラブからオファーが届いていることを明かしていた。

シティは今シーズン終了後に改めてフェルナンジーニョサイドとの話し合いを設定しているが、同選手の退団に備えた動きをすでに見せているという。
そして、『タイムズ』が伝えるところによれば、有力な後釜候補がウェストハムの主力MFだという。

高いプレー強度と戦術眼を併せ持つライスは、守備的MFに加えてセンターバックでもプレー可能な汎用性を持っており、グアルディオラ監督の志向するスタイルにフィットし易い人材だ。

ウェストハムが来シーズンのチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)出場権を獲得できない場合、今夏にステップアップを図る可能性は高いが、競合するチェルシーやマンチェスター・ユナイテッドらとの争奪戦を制する必要がある。

アーセナル、今季3rdユニフォームは緑!80年代意識のレトロスタイル

「最強のスタジアムになる」シティのスタジアム改修計画が承認!総工費500億円で壮大なエンターテインメント施設へ「めっちゃ豪華」
