スペイン代表に招集されているチェルシーのGKケパ・アリサバラガが、練習でスーパーセーブを連発している。2018年夏にGK史上最高額の7100万ポンド(約96億6100万円)でチェルシーに加入したケパだが、2019-20シーズンは不安定なパフォーマンスでフランク・ランパード監督からの信頼を失い、一時は元アルゼンチン代表GKウィリー・カバジェロにスタメンを奪われるなど、苦しいシーズンを過ごした。

今シーズンもプレミアリーグ開幕から2試合連続でゴールマウスを守ったケパだが、直近2試合はカバジェロと新加入のセネガル代表GKエドゥアール・メンディが試合に出場しており、控えへと降格している。
チェルシーでの立場が危うくなっているケパだが、スペイン代表のトレーニングではその実力を発揮できたようだ。シュート練習の場面では、FWフェラン・トーレスやFWアダマ・トラオレのボックス際からの鋭いシュートをセーブすると、FWロドリゴ・モレノのPKも横っ飛びで防ぎ、持ち前の俊敏性と反射神経を見せつけた。

スペイン代表では、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのダビド・デ・ヘアが正守護神を務めるが、デ・ヘアより3つ年下のケパは後継者候補の筆頭としてルイス・エンリケ監督に招集され続けている。監督の期待に応えるためにも、ケパはこの苦境を乗り越えたいところだ。

2年越しに監督に謝罪…チェルシーGKケパが交代拒否の真相を明かす「無視するつもりなんてなかった」

終焉を迎えたレアル・マドリーのサイクル④～ベニテス体制プレイバック～
