ボーフムのハイコ・ブッチャー監督が、昇格降格プレーオフを振り返った。27日、ブンデスリーガの昇格降格プレーオフの2ndレグが行われ、ボーフムはアウェイでフォルトゥナ・デュッセルドルフと対戦した。

1stレグはホームで戦いながらも0-3と惨敗に終わったボーフム。最低でも90分間で3点差をつけなければ、その瞬間に2.ブンデスリーガ(ドイツ2部)に降格する状況だった。
それでも18分に、長距離のFKからのクロスをフィリップ・ホフマンがヘッドで合わせてボーフムが先制すると、66分には高速クロスをホフマンが再び頭で合わせて2点目を奪う。

それでもまだデュッセルドルフがリードしていた中、68分にはマティアス・ツィンマーマンがハンド。このPKをケビン・シュテーガーが決めて、3点差をボーフムが追いつく。
その後はゴールが生まれずPK戦へ。互いに1本ずつを失敗した中、7人目をボーフムが決めるも、デュッセルドルフは内野貴史が外してしまい終了。ボーフムが3点差を追いつき、PK戦の末に軌跡の残留を果たした。

試合後、ブッチャー監督は試合を振り返り、諦めずに戦った選手たちを評価。一方で、昇格を果たせなかったデュッセルドルフを労った。

「今は適切な言葉を見つけるのが本当に難しい。信じられないような試合だった。4日前の初戦の後は、本当に調子が悪かった。今はなんとかやってくれた」

「もちろん、我々は本当に嬉しく思っているし、逆転できると信じていたチームをとても誇りに思う」

「試合後でまだ虚しさも残っており、これ以上は言いたくない。彼らは素晴らしい戦いを見せ、私はフォルトゥナを最大限リスペクトしている」

「このような結果になるのは不公平だろう。ただ、スポーツはそんな瞬間もある。それが達成できて、本当に嬉しい」

「みんな似すぎ」「妹かわいらしい」浅野拓磨が兄妹7人勢揃いのレアショットで新年の挨拶「何年かぶりに揃いました」

浅野が2アシスト、ボーフムがドルトムントとの打ち合い制して残留《ブンデスリーガ》
