先週行われたホームでの1stレグを1-2で敗れたセルティックは、守勢を凌いで迎えた63分にFW前田大然のアシストからFWニコラス・キューンが決めて2戦合計スコアで試合を振り出しに戻した。
その後のバイエルンの攻勢を凌いで延長戦に持ち込めるかと思われたが、ほぼラストプレーの追加タイム4分に失点して引き分けとなり、2戦合計スコアの差で敗退となった。
格上バイエルン相手に2試合を通して奮闘した中、ロジャーズ監督は選手たちを労った。

「知らなかったからビックリした」セルティック加入井手口陽介の上半身タトゥーに驚きの声

「これ以上良いストーリーは書けなかった」セルティック復帰のジョタ、前田大然のアシストから初戦ゴールに「まるで昔を思い出すよう」
