林穂之香のエバートンと長野風花のリバプールが17日のFA女子スーパーリーグ第8節で激突した。なでしこジャパン勢がそろって先発し、日本人対決にもなったマージーサイドダービーはそれぞれにフィニッシュシーンがありながら拮抗した展開が続くなか、41分にボックス右に仕掛けた林が長野のファウルで倒れ、エバートンにPKチャンス。これをカチャ・スナイスが決め、エバートンが先制した。

追いかけるリバプールは反撃に転じるが、最後までエバートンのブロックをこじ開けられず、0-1で敗戦。リバプールの攻勢が続くなか、長野も挽回しようとボックス内でのこぼれ球を押し込みにかかれば、ミドルを放つシーンもあったが、ゴールが遠かった。
だが、PKシーンを見返すと、長野の足が林にかかった位置がボックスの外にも感じ、微妙なジャッジに。イギリス『BBC』によると、その1点に泣いたリバプールのマット・ベアード監督も「追いつくチャンスがあったのに生かせなかったのは我々の責任」とした上で、PK判定に失望感を募らせた。

「あれはPKじゃなかった。それだけ。試合の流れが完全に変わってしまった。主審、第4審、線審、副審の誰もが遮るものなしの視界だったんだ。私でさえも接触がボックスのおよそ1ヤード外側だとわかった。正直、これは毎週のように起きることだし、正直諦めたよ。我々だけに限ったことじゃないが、今日の試合は100%、そのせいだ」
また、「審判にがっかりさせられたよ。我々は2つのPKがあったはずだし、PKじゃない判定もあった。最終的に、そういう判定のせいで今日の1ポイント、あるいは3ポイントを落としたんだ」とも語った。

ちなみに、エバートンはこれが今季初勝利で、リバプールはこれで3敗目となっている。

なでしこジャパン勢ら4名も追加!EAが『FIFA23』内NWSL選手のレーティングを公開、日本女子トップは?

謎に包まれたキャリア中断から2年…シグルドソンが853日ぶりに公式戦復帰へ
