インテル・マイアミはこれで勝ち点を74とし、イースタン・カンファレンス首位に。ウェスタン・カンファレンス首位のロサンゼルス・ギャラクシーの勝ち点64も上回り、MLSのレギュラーシーズンで最も多くの勝ち点を獲得したチームに送られるサポーターズ・シールドを受賞した。
この試合には、FIFAのジャンニ・インファンティーノ会長も観戦に訪れており、試合後にピッチ上で行われた祝勝会に参加。インテル・マイアミがクラブW杯に出場することを発表した。

シティ守護神エデルソンがバロンドールに推す選手は? 最有力候補はクラブ同僚と代表チームの後輩

「W杯は目標じゃない」37歳メッシの目標は2年後のW杯にあらず、今の目標は「毎日を元気に過ごすこと」
アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシは、2026年の北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)への出場が最優先と考えてはいないようだ。 現在37歳のメッシ。バルセロナで育ち、エースとして数多くのタイトルを獲得してきた。 一方で、アルゼンチン代表としては全くタイトルに恵まれず。W杯はもちろんのこと、コパ・アメリカでも決勝までは進むもののタイトルを獲得するには至らなかった。 そのことで揶揄されることもあったメッシだが、2021年のコパ・アメリカで悲願の代表で初タイトルを獲得すると、2022年のカタールW杯で世界一に。さらに、2024年のコパ・アメリカでも優勝し、連覇を達成。代表でも十分なタイトルを獲得することとなった。 現在はアメリカのメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のインテル・マイアミでプレーするメッシ。気になるのはそのアメリカでも行われるW杯の連覇だ。 南米予選のボリビア代表戦ではハットトリックと錆びついていないところを見せつけたが、試合後にW杯を目指してはプレーしていないと語った。 「これが最後の試合になるかもしれないことはわかっている」 「その時になってみれば分かる。時間を早めたり、先を見据えたりするのは好きじゃない。毎日を楽しむようにしている」 「このレベルでプレーし続け、気分良く幸せでいられたらと思う」 「好きなことをやれる時は幸せです。2026年のW杯に出場することよりも大切にしている。W杯に出場するという目標は立てていないけど、毎日を元気に過ごすことが目標だ」 目標は毎日を健康に過ごすこと。ただ、それが達成されればもちろんW杯に向かう可能性はある。可能性を排除したわけではないが、大きな目標にはしていないというメッシ。アメリカで挑戦しているのもW杯のためではないようだ。 「ここ(インテル・マイアミ)に来るために僕が踏み出した一歩は、引退を意味するものではない。僕たちはチームをさらに大きくし、タイトルを獲得して発展に貢献するためにここに来た」 「僕たちはすでにタイトルを獲得しており、さらに獲得できるところまで来ている」 2024.10.18 23:20 Fri
