イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は9日、UEFAネーションズリーグ(UNL)に臨むイングランド代表に2選手を追加招集したことを発表した。

リー・カーズリー暫定監督は25名を招集していたが、DFエズリ・コンサ(アストン・ビラ)、MFモーガン・ギブス=ホワイト(ノッティンガム・フォレスト)、MFコビー・メイヌー(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)がそれぞれ負傷のため不参加となった。

当初は追加招集の予定はないとされていたが、9日にはFWハリー・ケイン(バイエルン)が別メニュー調整。FWジャック・グリーリッシュ(マンチェスター・シティ)は軽い打撲のために練習を欠席していた。
新たに追加招集されたのは、MFカーティス・ジョーンズ(リバプール)と、DFヴァレンティノ・リヴラメント(ニューカッスル)の2名。どちらも招集歴はあるものの、まだA代表デビューは果たしていない若手2人だ。

カーティス・ジョーンズは、2024年5月に初招集。リヴラメントは9月に初招集を受け、今回はU-21イングランド代表に招集されていたが、A代表に加わることとなった。

「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 ▽国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)は17日、ロシア・ワールドカップ(W杯)のチーム・オブ・ザ・トーナメント(ベストイレブン)を発表した。 ▽6月14日から7月15日までの約1カ月間に渡って開催されていたロシア・ワールドカップ(W杯)は、フランスの20年ぶり2度目の優勝で幕を閉じた。大会を通じて多くの選手が輝いた中、FIFAは今大会のベストイレブンを選出した。 ▽[4-2-3-1]の布陣が採用された中、GKにはフランス代表キャプテンのGKウーゴ・ロリスがベルギー代表GKティボー・クルトワ、イングランド代表GKジョーダン・ピックフォードらを抑えて選出された。 ▽最終ラインでは今大会最多のチャンスクリエイトを見せたイングランド代表DFキーラン・トリッピアー、決勝に進出したフランスとクロアチアのディフェンスリーダーのDFラファエル・ヴァラン、DFデヤン・ロブレンが選出。さらに、サプライズとなったのがイングランド代表MFアシュリー・ヤングが左サイドバックで選出されたことだった。 ▽中盤では2セントラルハーフに大会MVPのクロアチア代表MFルカ・モドリッチとブラジル代表MFパウリーニョ、2列目は右からベルギー歴代最高位の立役者のMFエデン・アザール、フランスのエースFWアントワーヌ・グリーズマン、ブラジル代表のエースFWネイマールが選出された。 ▽そして、1トップには今大会最優秀若手選手に選出されたフランス代表FWキリアン・ムバッペが選出された。 ▽通常、こういったベストイレブンなどの各賞の選出には多くの異論が出るものだが、今回に関してはロリス、パウリーニョ、ネイマール、ヤングの選出に批判が集まっている。大会最優秀GKのクルトワを抑えての選出となったロリスに関しては決勝戦の信じがたいミスがなければ、優勝チームのキャプテンという事情もあり選出に異論が出ることはなかったかもしれない。 ▽その一方で、フランス代表MFエンゴロ・カンテや同MFポール・ポグバ、クロアチア代表MFイバン・ラキティッチ、同FWイバン・ペリシッチ、ベルギー代表MFケビン・デ・ブライネを抑えてパウリーニョ、ネイマールが選出されたのも解せないところだ。 ▽それ以上にサプライズとなったのは今大会を通じてセットプレーのキッカーとしてまずまずの存在感を見せたものの、流れの中ではさほど目立たなかったヤングの選出だ。左サイドバックに関してはフランスの優勝に貢献したDFリュカ・エルナンデスやブラジル代表DFマルセロらもいただけに、“クセがすごい”選出と言わざるを得ないだろう。 ◆FIFA公式ロシアW杯ベストイレブン GK ウーゴ・ロリス(フランス) DF キーラン・トリッピアー(イングランド) ラファエル・ヴァラン(フランス) デヤン・ロブレン(クロアチア) アシュリー・ヤング(イングランド) MF エデン・アザール(ベルギー) パウリーニョ(ブラジル) アントワーヌ・グリーズマン(フランス) ルカ・モドリッチ(クロアチア) ネイマール(ブラジル) FW キリアン・ムバッペ(フランス) 2018.07.18 16:05 Wed

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu
