パース・グローリーのFWアダム・タガート(30)が、セレッソ大阪時代以来のオーストラリア代表復帰だ。豪『news.com.au』が伝えている。
2021〜22シーズンにC大阪でプレーしたタガート。21年は明治安田J1リーグで12試合1得点、22年は20試合5得点を記録し、翌23年からAリーグ・メンのパース・グローリーへと移籍した。
豪代表にはカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア予選ごろから定着し、C大阪加入当初は主力級として活躍。しかし、ケガもあって次第に招集外となり、本大会メンバーからも落選する。
失意のままにC大阪を退団、母国に戻ったが、2023-24シーズンのタガートはキャリアハイペースで得点を量産中。ここまでリーグ戦19試合で15得点を叩き出し、得点ランキング首位に立つ。
すでに30歳を迎え、2026年W杯のころにはベテランの域に達しているわけだが、この活躍が認められて約2年ぶりの代表復帰ということに。
タガートは韓国・水原三星ブルーウィングス時代の2019シーズンにKリーグ1得点王。イングランド・フルアムにも在籍経験があり、豪代表では通算17試合6得点を記録している。

“日本キラー”ケイヒル、オーストラリア代表を引退! 通算成績107試合50ゴール

豪州FWに「英語を話せないふりをした」とユニ交換拒否揶揄されたジルーがナイスな反応!
