ヴィッセル神戸のFW武藤嘉紀のオフショットが話題だ。2021年夏にニューカッスルから神戸へと完全移籍し、Jリーグに復帰した武藤。神戸がクラブ史上初となるJ1制覇を達成した2023シーズンは、FW大迫勇也と共に神戸の攻撃を牽引。全34試合に出場しチーム2位の10ゴールを記録すると、リーグのベストイレブンにも選ばれた。
連覇を目指す2024シーズンは、ここまでインテル・マイアミとの親善試合や17日のFUJIFILM SUPRE CUPを欠場しており、コンディション面が心配なところだが、近づくJ1開幕に向けて準備も進めているのかもしれない。
21日にインスタグラムを更新すると、「さっぱりと!! Thanks」と美容院での散髪後の写真をアップ。サイドや後ろはスッキリとしつつかきあげた前髪には少しパーマがかかっているようにも見える。

▽2018年ロシアワールドカップまでの半年。ヴァイッド・ハリルホジッチ監督率いる日本代表に残されたテストマッチは、3月の欧州遠征2連戦と5月30日の壮行試合(横浜)、そして事前キャンプ地での2試合の合計5試合程度しかない。 ▽指揮官も「年明けからは選手の本格的な絞り込みに入る。これから30～35人くらいのラージリストを作りたい。3月のテストマッチ後から絞り、最終的に(W杯本大会登録メンバーの)23人のリストが生まれていく流れだ」と語っている。つまり、3月の欧州2連戦メンバーに入らなければ、ロシア行きはほぼなくなるということなのだ。 ▽その枠に何とか滑り込もうと、凄まじい意欲を燃やしているのが、12月の東アジアカップ(E-1選手権)で3試合連続ジョーカー起用された川又堅碁。184㎝・75㎏という恵まれた体躯を誇る大型ストライカーだ。彼の最大の武器は日本人離れした屈強なフィジカル。父・勇人さんは専修大学時代、陸上の三段跳びの選手で全国6位に入った実績を持つ。そのDNAを受け継いだうえ、幼少期から水泳、野球、陸上、剣道、空手と数多くのスポーツに取り組み、楽々とこなしていたという。そんな選手だから、かつて福西崇史(現解説者)を指導した愛媛・小松高校時代の恩師・真鍋秀樹監督も「中学生の川又を始めて見た時、福西をはるかに超えた並外れたスケール感があった」と言うほどだ。その能力をコロンビア、セネガル、ポーランドという強敵と対峙するロシアの大舞台で使わないのはもったいない。 <span class="split"></span> ▽川又が滑り込みを目論む1トップの枠は、大迫勇也(ケルン)が当確で、それ以外の1～2枠を代表通算50ゴールの岡崎慎司(レスター)、ドイツ組の武藤嘉紀(マインツ)、今季得点王の小林悠(川崎)、同22ゴールの杉本健勇(C大阪)らが競っている状態だ。パチューカ移籍後は中央でプレーすることの多い本田圭佑もこの枠の候補者の1人と考えてもいいだろう。川又はこれだけ実績のある面々に勝たなければならない。本人は「ロシアに生き残るために? そんなことを発言したら俊さん(中村俊輔=磐田)に怒られる。『もっと練習しろ』って」と冗談交じりに苦笑していたが、かつて代表10番を背負った先輩からの後押しを受けているのは事実だ。 ▽実際、今季磐田に移籍してからの彼の成長ぶりは目覚ましいものがあった。アルベルト・ザッケローニ監督に初めて日本代表合宿に呼ばれた2014年はアルビレックス新潟、2015年E-1選手権(中国・武漢)の時は名古屋グランパスに所属していたが、その頃の川又はボールがうまく収まらず、前線の起点になり切れないことが多かった。「足元の技術がやや不足している」という評価も根強く、ハリルホジッチ監督もそのあたりを問題視したから、長い間代表招集を見送ってきたのだろう。 ▽しかしながら、今季磐田で名パサーの徹底指導を受けたことで、今回のE-1選手権では相手のプレッシャーを受けながらもしっかりとタメを作り、味方の決定機を演出できるようになっていた。それは特筆すべき点だ。加えて、ゴールこそ奪えなかったものの、豪快なヘディングを何本もお見舞いしていて、その迫力は小林や金崎夢生(鹿島)を上回るものがあった。 「出てくると雰囲気がガラリと変わる? それは自分でも分かってる。そのうえで必要なのはゴール、チームをいい方向に向かせるようなプレー。それができればそれでいい。ただ、今回の東アジアでは3試合ともに決めきれなかった。これがワールドカップだったとしたら、自分がチャンスを決めるか決めないかで、チームが上に上がれるかどうかが決まる。そういう意味でもいい課題ができたかな」と本人も前向きにコメントしていた。 ▽ロシアを戦ううえで、やはりジョーカーとして流れを変えられる人材はやはり重要だ。名前を挙げたFW陣の中でその役割に最適なのは、この川又ではないだろうか。彼はそこに照準を当てて「短時間で目に見える仕事のできる選手」ということを強烈にアピールするべきだ。それを来季開幕からの1か月間で確実に遂行し、ハリルホジッチ監督の信頼を勝ち取れば、ひょっとすればひょっとするかもしれない。 ▽2014年ブラジルワールドカップを逃した時、「次こそは」と自分自身に誓いを立てたという川又。それを現実にしなければ、数々の苦しみを乗り越え、自分自身に磨きをかけてきた意味がない。持てる力の全てをまだ発揮していない怪物が大化けする姿を2018年にはぜひとも見てみたい。 2017.12.27 12:00 Wed

日本代表の背番号11/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録
アジアカップはカタール代表の初優勝で終わり、5度目の戴冠を期待された日本代表は残念ながら準優勝に終わった。準決勝のイラン代表戦では今大会でベストのパフォーマンスから3-0の快勝を収めただけに、後手に回った決勝戦での前半の戦いぶりが悔やまれる。 そのカタール戦、ハーフタイムに控えの選手がピッチでボールを蹴っていたが、乾貴士と遠藤航の姿がなかった。0-2とリードされていただけに、「後半から乾と遠藤の2枚替えか。遠藤がボランチに戻れば守備を立て直すことができるが、体調は大丈夫なのか?」と期待したものの、森保一監督は動かなかった。 最初の交代カードは後半16分、原口元気に代えて武藤嘉紀を起用した。すると19分と21分に武藤が立て続けにヘッドでゴールを狙ったものの、シュートはクロスバーを越え、同点のチャンスを逃してしまった。決めていれば2011年カタール大会決勝の李忠成のようなヒーローになれただけに、武藤にとっては悔いの残るシュートだっただろう。 ただ、最初の交代カードで武藤を抜擢したが、彼の武器であるスピードはスペースがあってこと生きるタイプだ。カタールは自陣のゴール前を固めてカウンター狙いだったため、ゴールをこじ開けるにはクロスに対しガムシャラに飛び込む北川航也の方が効果的ではなかったかと疑問が残る。 それまで5試合に起用し、サブ組のFWでは最長の出場時間だっただけに、なぜ最後までベンチに温存したのか。北川が森保監督の期待に応えることができなかったと言われればそれまでだし、結果論にすぎないという反論もあることは百も承知だ。 そして改めて思うのは、北川は運がないということ。それは北川だけに限らず、今回彼が背負った日本代表の「背番号11」はなぜか結果に恵まれないということだ。 北川の前に「背番号11」を背負っていた選手が誰かと聞かれても、即答できるファンは数少ないのではないだろうか。ロシアW杯での「背番号11」は宇佐美貴史だったが、ほとんど活躍できなかった。 その前は豊田陽平であり、その前はというと柿谷曜一朗、原口元気、ハーフナー・マイク、前田遼一、玉田圭司、播戸竜二、佐藤寿人、巻誠一郎、鈴木隆行、黒部光昭、松井大輔、鈴木隆行、中山雅史、三浦淳寛、呂比須ワグナー、小野伸二、三浦知良らが「背番号11」を背負ってきた。 彼らの中で記憶に残るゴールを決めた選手となると、2002年日韓W杯の初戦ベルギー代表戦(2-2)で同点ゴールを決め、W杯で初めて勝点1をもたらした鈴木くらいではないだろうか。あとは“キング・カズ”の存在感が圧倒的だった。 もともと「背番号11」は左ウイングに与えられるナンバーだったものの、ポジションが流動化した現代サッカーでは9番と10番と同様に攻撃的な選手、ストライカーに与えられる番号でもある。にもかかわらず、日本代表の歴代「11番」は、カズ以降ストライカーとしての輝きを放てていない。 果たして3月に再招集される森保ジャパンにおいて、誰が「背番号11」を受け継ぐのか。そしてゴールという結果を出すことができるのか。23人のメンバーとともに注目したいと思っている。 2019.02.05 16:45 Tue

ベッカムに並ぶ“イケメン”…日韓W杯で一大ブームとなったイルハンはすっかり“イケオジ”に
