コンテ氏はこれまで、ユベントスやチェルシー、インテルで指揮を執り、数多くのタイトルを獲得。ただし、2021年11月に就任したトッテナムでは初年度こそチームをプレミアリーグトップ4に導く流石の手腕を発揮したものの、翌シーズン不振に陥ると選手やクラブへの不満を爆発させ、2023年3月に契約解除となった。

以降はフリーの状態が続き、現在はイタリアで家族との時間を過ごしているコンテ氏。故郷レッチェのサレント大学でスピーチを行う機会があった同氏は、現在の平穏な生活に満足だとしつつ、ユベントスへの復帰も含めたあらゆる可能性があることも示唆している。
