アストン・ビラ、37歳ヤングが退団…ECL権に貢献も契約満了

アストン・ビラは31日、元イングランド代表DFアシュリー・ヤング(37)の契約満了による退団を発表した。

かつてはマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでキャプテンを務めたほか、インテルでもプレーしたヤング。2021年6月にインテルでの国外挑戦に区切りをつけ、古巣ビラに復帰した。

名を知らしめた切れ味抜群の仕掛けはサイドバックに転向してから、そうないものの、まだまだやれるところをアピール。今季も主力として公式戦32試合の出場で1得点だった。

だが、契約は今季限り。今季途中から率いたウナイ・エメリ監督のもとでV字回復を遂げ、ヨーロッパ・カンファレンスリーグ出場権を獲得したチームでも重宝されたが、退団が決まった。

クラブは「アストン・ビラの誰もがアシュリーのクラブでの貢献に心から感謝するとともに、今後の幸運を祈りたい」と敬意を表している。

「寄せすぎ」「コピーだ」アストン・ビラの新エンブレムがチェルシーに酷似?実は過去のデザインを踏襲したもの
