フランス代表の注目どころとなる新キャプテンだが、FWキリアン・ムバッペが任命されるようだ。

ディディエ・デシャン監督が新たに2026年まで契約を結び、続投のフランス。カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)後初の代表ウィークから、ユーロ2024の本戦を目指す戦いが始まるが、キャプテンのGKウーゴ・ロリスが代表引退とあって、誰がそのバトンを受けるのかも注目されるところだ。

フランス『レキップ』が報じたところによると、デシャン監督は押しも押されぬ絶対的エースのムバッペを新キャプテンに指名した模様。どうやらFWアントワーヌ・グリーズマンとの二択だったようだが、最終的に24歳の点取り屋を選んだという。

24日にオランダ代表をホームに迎え撃つフランスは続く27日にアイルランドとのアウェイ戦へ。通算66キャップで36ゴールを決めるムバッペはすでにフランスの顔だが、今後は主将の重責も背負ってプレーすることになりそうだ。
