ブラジル代表FWネイマールが、アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシを祝福した。18日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の決勝が行われ、アルゼンチンはフランス代表と対戦した。

36年ぶり3回目の優勝を目指すアルゼンチンと、実に60年ぶり3カ国目の快挙となる大会連覇を目指すフランスの一戦。立ち上がりは低調なフランスの前にアルゼンチンが押し込むと、23分にメッシがPKを落ち着いて決めてアルゼンチンが先制。36分にはメッシの起点からカウンターが発動。最後は、アンヘル・ディ・マリアが決めて2点リードする。
フランスは全く良いところなく、シュートすら打てない状況で推移。それでもキリアン・ムバッペが終盤に連続ゴールを決めて追いつくと、延長戦へ。延長戦ではメッシ、ムバッペがそれぞれ決めて3-3でPK戦に突入した。

PK戦ではフランスが2人失敗。アルゼンチンは4人全員が成功して勝利し、36年ぶりの戴冠を果たした。
悲願のW杯制覇を果たしたアルゼンチン。一方で、最大のライバルであり、6度目のW杯制覇を夢見て今大会の臨むも、ベスト8で敗れたブラジルだったが、ネイマールはインスタグラムを更新。「おめでとう、ブラザー」と投稿し、パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のチームメイトでもあるメッシの写真と共に祝福した。

これにはアルゼンチン代表MFでPSGのチームメイトだったレアンドロ・パレデス(ユベントス)は「君はとても素晴らしい、愛している」とコメント。その他にも称える声が集まる中、「次のこのシーンは君のものだ」と、4年後にW杯制覇をする姿を期待する声が多く寄せられている。

「サッカーが大嫌いだった」偉大な父を持つ18歳M・イブラヒモビッチ、父ズラタンとの比較は「嫌だった」

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

世界一にもなれた稀代の創造主、ファン・セバスティアン・ベロン

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
