レスター・シティのMFジェームズ・マディソンのイングランド代表入りの裏に、ブレンダン・ロジャーズ監督のサポートがあったようだ。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が伝えている。

10日にカタール・ワールドカップに向けたイングランド代表メンバー発表された。概ね順当な顔ぶれなった中、マディソンはいわゆるサプライズ枠という格好での選出となった。ただ、ロジャーズ監督によると、マディソンは一度、イングランド代表のガレス・サウスゲイト監督からのメンバー入りに関する電話を無視してしまったようだ。曰く、掛け直させたことで代表入りが確定したという。
「彼はトレーニングに行く直前にガレスからの電話を取り損ねてしまった。私のオフィスに来てかけ直すよう言ったのだ」

「その後、彼は世界が輝いて見えるかのような喜びと共に部屋から出てきた。素晴らしい瞬間だっただろうね。幸せと安堵に包まれていたよ・彼の心の中にはいろいろな思いが渦巻いていたことだろう」

トッテナム会長がバイエルンを無視? ケイン獲得へ総額1億ユーロ超えのオファーの回答期限守らず…それでも希望ありか?

1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 頭部同士が激しく激突、動けず12分間も治療…担架で運ばれたイングランド女子代表DFにはスタンドから拍手
