アストン・ビラのスコットランド代表MFジョン・マッギンが、セルティックの日本代表MF旗手怜央の活躍に言及した。2日、セルティックはスコティッシュ・プレミアシップ第22節でレンジャーズと対戦。伝統の“オールドファーム”で、首位のレンジャーズと2ポイント差で迎えたセルティックだが、日本人選手で唯一先発した旗手が圧巻のパフォーマンスを見せた。

旗手は開始5分にCKのクリアボールをハーフボレー気味のシュートでねじ込むと、42分にはゴール右隅を狙ったコントロールショットを決め2点目を奪う。
その後、44分には旗手のクロスをリエル・アバダが合わせて1点を追加し3-0で勝利。旗手の2ゴール1アシストの大暴れでセルティックは首位に浮上した。

旗手には称賛の声が集まり、リバプールのスコットランド代表DFアンドリュー・ロバートソンも自身のツイッターで反応。「ただならぬ選手だ」とツイートしていた。
そんな中、アストン・ビラで主軸を務め、かつてはセント・ミレンやハイバーニアンでプレーしていたマッギンもツイッターで反応。「ハタテはなんて素晴らしいんだ!」と称賛した。

リーグ戦もないことから、プレミアリーグでプレーするスコットランド人選手も多く見ていたと思われる“オールドファーム”。あまり存在を知られていなかった“ハタテ”の名前が一気に浸透しそうだ。

「知らなかったからビックリした」セルティック加入井手口陽介の上半身タトゥーに驚きの声

サラサラヘアからゆるめパーマに!セルティック古橋亨梧の変貌に英メディアまで反応!「見違える」
