アーセナル所属のなでしこジャパンFW岩渕真奈のチームメイトを、イングランドのレジェンドも絶賛した。

1月27日に行われたFA女子スーパーリーグ(WSL)で、ホームにブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオンを迎えた首位アーセナル。先制を許すもFWフィフィアネ・ミーデマのゴールで追い付き、同点で迎えた60分にボックスの手前左、わずか外でFKを獲得した。

ボールをセットしたのはイングランド女子代表(ライオネセス)でも常連のFWベス・ミード。助走から右足を振り抜くと、放たれたシュートは5枚の壁の外側を抜けて鋭く曲がり、ゴール右隅へと吸い込まれた。

壁の上から落とすのではなく、外から巻くボールを選択したミード。見事なFKには当然ファンからの称賛が相次いだ。

さらにライオネセスがこのシーンをインスタグラムに投稿すると、FKの名手である元イングランド代表MFデイビッド・ベッカム氏からも反応が。自身の現役時代を彷彿とさせるキックに対し、炎の絵文字とともに「とても、とってもいいよ」とのコメントが寄せられた。

イングランドのレジェンドも唸るFKが決勝点となり、2-1で勝利を収めたアーセナル。リーグ戦3試合ぶりの白星をつかみ、首位をキープしている。

鮮烈デビューの冨安健洋がプレミアでのプレーを語る「若い頃からの大きな夢」、岩渕真奈とは「良い関係」

1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。
