28日に行われた東京オリンピックグループC第3節のU-24アルゼンチン代表戦を1-1の引き分けで終え、グループ首位で決勝トーナメント進出を決めたU-24スペイン代表。

18歳ながらグループリーグ全試合に先発出場したMFペドリだが、アルゼンチン戦の前には卓球で己を磨いていたようだ。

ペドリは28日に自身のインスタグラムを更新。ピッチではなく屋内の施設で卓球に興じる姿を投稿した。その相手は卓球女子スペイン代表マリア・シアオ。スペイン生まれだが中国人の両親を持つ選手だ。

シアオとのラリーの最中のペドリは真剣そのもので、一言も発さずに卓球に集中。さすがにポイントを取ることはなかったものの、中々の腕前を見せた。

その腕前は本人も自覚しているようで、インスタグラムでは「僕は2人の本当のスター、マリア・シアオとガリア・ドボラク(卓球女子スペイン代表)と会って少し練習するのが大好き。僕たちはダニ・オルモほどのレベルではないけど、そんなに悪くないでしょ?」と投稿している。

ちなみに、ペドリとダニ・オルモの2人は女子選手とそれぞれコンビを組んで混合ダブルスにも挑戦。スペイン『アス』も「彼らの腕前は悪くない」と認めている。

「間違いを犯しました」ゲイ告白騒動のカシージャス、「僕らの話をする時が…」と茶化したプジョールが謝罪
