5日に行われたユーロ2020準決勝、イタリア代表vsスペイン代表は120分を戦っても決着がつかず、勝負はPK戦にもつれこんだ。イタリアの先行で行われたPK戦。3-2で迎えたスペインの4人目とした登場したモラタは右下を狙うも、ややコースが甘くなったか、GKジャンルイジ・ドンナルンマにストップされた。
イギリス『サン』は、このPK失敗について各識者が次のように言及したと伝えた。

サウサンプトンのOBであり、現役中PKを48回中1度しか失敗しなかったマット・ル・ティシエ氏は、モラタのPKには欠陥があったと指摘。
同氏はモラタが蹴る直前に顔を下げていたために、ドンナルンマがすでに動いているのを確認できなかったのだろうと分析。少しでもヘッドアップしていれば、GKの動きがわかったはずだとの見解を述べた。

また、かつてアーセナルやクリスタル・パレスでゴールを量産したイアン・ライトも同様に顔が下がっていたと指摘。加えて、助走の取り方やコースについても言及した。

「助走が直線的すぎると思った。これでは体を開いて蹴ると、あそこへしか飛ばない。キーパーのサイズを見てくれよ。サイドネットに正確に蹴る以外にコースはないだろう」

PK戦はこの後MFジョルジーニョがコロコロPKを沈めて決着。ビハインドで迎えた80分には値千金の同点弾を決めたモラタだが、意気揚々と臨んだPKの失敗により、ヒーローになり損ねてしまったようだ。

「99%の希望を失った」スペインの名医がガビの負傷に言及「劇的な状況になってしまう」、原因は「選手の試合数」

「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 女子W杯決勝戦になでしこのレジェンド宮間あやが!優勝トロフィー手にする姿が反響「日本の誇り」「この登場はしびれた」

レアルDFが結婚式! 相手はモデルで双子のウエディング・プランナー、チームメイトも参列し祝福

個人四冠、スペイン女子MFボンマティのバロンドール受賞を仲間が祝福!トロフィー付きのケーキに記念パネル「これは素晴らしい」
