ユーロ2020でまたしてもコカ・コーラが大きな注目を集めた。スイス代表は28日、ラウンド16でフランス代表と対戦。ワールドカップ王者相手にラスト10分から2点差を追いつき、延長、PK戦の末に勝利。スイス史上初のベスト8進出を決めた。

この試合でキャプテンマークを巻いてフル出場したスイス代表MFグラニト・ジャカだが、120分の戦いを終えてPK戦に向けてチームを鼓舞する場面では意外なものを手にしていた。
ジャカがスタッフから手渡され、口にしていたのはコカ・コーラのペットボトルだ。大会中に金髪に染め上げたジャカはそれを半分以上飲むと、円陣の中心でチームメイトたちを鼓舞。PK戦に向けてチームの士気を高めていた。

すると、この檄が効いたのかスイス代表は5人全員が成功。なお、コーラを飲んだジャカはPKを蹴っていない。そして、ジャカはこの試合のスター・オブ・ザ・マッチにも選ばれている。
今大会でコカ・コーラが注目を集めるのは初めてではない。ポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドが、公式会見で目の前にあった大会スポンサーであるコカ・コーラのボトルを視界から遠ざけて、水が入ったペットボトルを手に持ち、ソフトドリンクを否定するかのような行動を取ったことで大きな話題に。そこから多くの選手たちの中で似たような事態が起こっていた。

そのため、SNSではC・ロナウドと関連づける声も多いが、いずれにせよ今回のジャカの行動がコカ・コーラ社に大きな広告効果をもたらすことは間違いないだろう。

ファビアン・シェアが試合中に失神…「なにも覚えていない」

スイス代表DFファビアン・シェアが、23日に行われたユーロ2020予選のジョージア代表との試合中に、一時的に意識を失っていたことが分かった。イギリス『SPORT BIBLE』が伝えている。 記事によると、シェアは23分のスイスのCKの場面で、相手と競り合った際に頭部を強打。そのままピッチに倒れ込み意識を失ってしまったという。咄嗟にジョージアのジャノ・アナニーゼは息が詰まらないよう、シェアの舌を手で持ち上げた。 アナニーゼの素早い対応もあり、シェアは4分後に意識が回復。そして驚くべきことにそのまま試合を続行したという。この判断には疑問の声が上がっているが、幸いシェアは90分間戦い抜き、スイスの2-0の勝利に貢献した。 試合後、シェアはスイス『Blick』に対し、その時のことを全く覚えていないことを明かした。 「恐ろしい出来事だった。何も覚えていないんだ。数分間僕は意識を失っていた」 「まだ頭の中が揺れている感じがするよ。首に痛みもあるし額には痣が残った。だけど、それだけ激しい試合だったってことさ」 2019.03.25 13:58 Mon
