ウニオン・ベルリンに居場所を見つけたカリウス「すべてが上手くいけば、ここに残れる」

ウニオン・ベルリンの元ドイツ代表GKロリス・カリウスが、来シーズンもチームに残る可能性を示唆した。ドイツ『シュポルト・ビルト』が伝えている。

カリウスは昨夏の移籍市場で、リバプールからウニオン・ベルリンにレンタル移籍で加入。GKアンドレアス・ルセとのポジション争いでは後れを取り、リーグ開幕からほとんど出番がない状況だった。しかし、ルセが家庭の事情により離脱したブンデスリーガ第21節のシャルケ戦からは、3試合連続で先発出場を飾っている。

ついにポジションを掴んだカリウスはインタビューに応じた際、個人よりも現在リーグ7位と好調なチーム成績が何より重要だと強調。そのうえで、自身のパフォーマンスについても手応えを掴んでいると語った。

「ベルリンという街にも、ウニオンというクラブにもなじんで、完全に落ち着いているよ。もちろん、多くの試合でプレーしたいと思っているけど、ここで何かを失っているわけでもない」

「僕は自分自身よりも、チームの成功を考えているんだ。守護神を務めたここ3試合は負けていないし、チームとしてうまく機能していたんじゃないかな。とても誇りに思っているよ。監督は僕がそこにいると知っている。彼が僕を必要とするなら、頼って欲しいね」

また、カリウスは来シーズンもウニオン・ベルリンでプレーする可能性について言及。チーム次第ではあるものの、カリウス本人は残留を希望している。

「僕はまだ、リバプールと2022年までの契約を結んでいる。でも、もちろんすべてが上手くいけば、ベルリンに残ることもできるだろう。僕はここを通過点として考えているわけではないよ。ここの人々のメンタリティやチームスピリッツは、僕にとって良いものだ。僕は基本的に、地に足をつけている男だからね。たとえ高価な車に乗っていてもさ」

ちょうど3年前…原口元気がブンデスリーガのシーズンNo.1ミスに選出されてしまった“衝撃のゴール未遂”に再注目
