かつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドで活躍したトリニダード・トバゴの英雄、ドワイト・ヨーク氏が、イングランド代表MFジェシー・リンガード(27)に言及した。イギリス『エクスプレス』が伝えている。
8歳からユナイテッドユースに所属し、2011年のトップチームデビュー後も生え抜きの選手として同クラブで活躍を続けるリンガード。
ここまでユナイテッドで公式戦203試合に出場しているが、プレミアリーグの舞台で最後に得点を記録したのは2018年の12月となっており、思うような結果を残せていない。
ヨーク氏は、『Stadium Astro』のYouTubeチャンネルのインタビューで、同じユース出身のイングランド代表FWマーカス・ラッシュフォードを引き合いに出し、リンガードの物足りなさを指摘した。
「結論はまだ出ていない。彼は我々が大好きなアカデミーの出身で、私たちは多くの希望を持っていた」

マウントのユナイテッド移籍に語られぬ事情? テリー「この話には別の側面もある」
