▽南米王者を決めるコパ・リベルタドーレス決勝2ndレグ・リーベル・プレートvsボカ・ジュニアーズは、元々11月24日に開催予定だった。しかし、ボカ・ジュニアーズの選手バスがスタジアムに向かう道中で、過激なリーベル・プレートのサポーターにモノを投げつけられるなどしてバスのガラスが割られ、車内に催涙スプレーが撒かれた挙句、数名の選手が負傷する事態に。この騒動を受け、南米サッカー連盟(CONMEBOL)は開催日を翌25日に延期した。

▽しかし、ボカ・ジュニアーズ側から試合をできるコンディションにないという申し立てを受けたことにより、再び再延期が決定すると、CONMEBOLは最終的に安全性や中立性等を考慮した結果、12月9日にレアル・マドリーの本拠地であるサンティアゴ・ベルナベウで開催することを発表した。

▽前代未聞の他地域開催。これにはアルゼンチンのレジェンドも苦言を呈した。

「彼らは我々のスーペルクラシコを取り上げた。我々の国、アルゼンチン最大の2チームが国外で試合をすることはとても悲しいことだ」

「これは間違いなくアルゼンチンサッカー界の敗北だ。起きたことは決して良いことではない。マドリッドでの開催は何も意味がない」

「私はボカの勝利を願っている。どちらかがクラブ・ワールドカップに出場しなければならないし、決勝はこのまま行われるだろう」

アルゼンチンでプレーする日本人3選手が揃い踏み!リーベル筆頭に新天地のウエアで登場

ガゴ、2年前のコパ・リベルタドーレス決勝の事件を振り返る「サッカー史で最も不愉快だった事件のひとつ」

シティがアルバレス加入を正式発表! 背番号は19番に決定
