昨年にビラ解任のジェラード氏が代表監督に? ポーランド代表が就任を打診か

スティーブン・ジェラード氏がポーランド代表の指揮官に就任する可能性があるようだ。

ジェラード氏は2016年11月に現役を引退し、翌年から古巣リバプールのアカデミーでコーチから指導者キャリアをスタート。その後、2018年にスコットランドのレンジャーズの指揮官に就任すると、2020-21シーズンには10年ぶりのリーグタイトルをもたらした。

こうした実績が評価され、2021年11月にアストン・ビラの指揮官に就任。チームの立て直しに成功してプレミアリーグ残留を成し遂げたが、今シーズンは副官のマイケル・ビール氏が退任した影響もあり開幕から苦戦続き。結局、昨年10月に解任が発表された。

以降はフリーの状態が続くジェラード氏だが、イギリス『デイリー・メイル』によると、ポーランド代表からオファーを受けているようだ。ポーランドは昨年11月に行われたカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)をベスト16で終えた後、チェスワフ・ミフニエヴィチ監督が退任。協会(PZPN)は後任探しに着手しており、42歳指揮官はサウジアラビア代表のエルベ・ルナール監督と並ぶ有力候補だという。

ジェラード氏もオファーを前向きに検討していると報じられており、近いうちに新天地が決まるかもしれない。

日本人選手がポーランド女子リーグで初のタイトル! 来季UWCL出場権も獲得
