セルタの下部組織出身のホセルは、2009年にレアル・マドリー・カスティージャに移籍。トップチームでも1試合に出場した。その後、生まれ故郷のドイツに渡り、ホッフェンハイム、フランクフルト、ハノーファーを渡り歩き、ストーク・シティ、ニューカッスルとイングランドでもプレー。2019年にアラベスへ完全移籍した。

ハルケの死に苦しんでいたイニエスタ｢全てが暗く、全てが黒く｣
